Eric just lost his brother last week. His brother co-wrote some of his hit songs.

Eric Church is a NASCAR fan.

Two of his songs had to do with famous people and places. Springsteen and Talladega.

Top 40 country — the kind that gets on network television and FM radio — means absolutely nothing to me and I have never heard of Eric Church before opening this thread. It takes a special kind of stupid to say that the NRA caused the Las Vegas shooting, but I doubt his career/popularity will be affected at all. The industry has changed a lot and progressive/liberal types rule the roost at most stations/studios. They can protect him from negative feedback if they want to.

Interesting choices in this from a production standpoint, too. The chick up on the hood doing the twerk/stripclub grind could be drop-dead gorgeous, but they chose
to put her in black rimmed glasses and pigtails. Little stuff like that, the sepia overlay and "end of reel" every 10 seconds or so, I find that stuff interesting.

Very close to the truth. I would put it this way: contemporary Top 40 country is simply pop music for white people. It’s not urban, it’s not country. It’s suburban music.

Church once played at a band party at my fraternity at Alabama.

He’s a hell of a musician.

Country music as a whole is moving further and further towards the Hollywood crowd.
