RE: Amid QB competition, UT's Guadagni, Peters value friendship
While neither Guadagni nor Peters have field performance to make informed projections to this point. What certainly is true for Guadagni, IMO, is that he can run circles around Logan. My pleas were “don’t run, Logan!” It was a crap shoot at best and, more often. “Oh, no!” Whether it was a designed play (thankfully few in number) or a broken play, it was a time to hold your breath.
Flipping to the defensive side , running QBs have been an ongoing headache, keeping opponents’ drives alive for years. Guadagni’s ability to run the ball may be an excellent plus keeping the Rockets’ offense on the field.
Should be fun to watch.

Eli Peters can make all the passes. Watching his video, he hits the receivers in stride. Peters can run with the football, but is not a running QB. Considering the Rocket receiving corp., he seems to be the guy that could really open up the Offense. Phil Steele has him as the Rocket starter. Watching the Pitt-Miami game, a guy like Guadagni gave the Canes major problems. Teams will slow their blitz packages, if Guadagni reads blitz and takes off. Personally, I think you will see both QB's depending on the situation. The two QB's will cause opponents' Defenses some real problems.

RE: Amid QB competition, UT's Guadagni, Peters value friendship
I'm hoping we use the preseason OOC games to give them both plenty of playing time. It's tough to use 2 guys, but if one is playing well and the other is not, then you start to see who performs in game situations. Guadagni has some experience while Peters has never played in a DI (FBS) game yet (at least I don't think he has). Given that, I'd like to see Peters play significant minutes in the first game for sure.
The OL will be our biggest key to the season. I'd also like to see some of our TE's used more - and for sure I want to see Gilliam back there as a fullback. If you haven't seen him hit a guy, you really need to focus on him in a game. For fun - watch him rush the punter and the blockers set up in front of the punter. I would say 3 out of 5 times, he will put one of them on their a$$ when they try to block him. Some guys can just hit hard and walk away like it is nothing. Surprised he was not moved to LB.

RE: Amid QB competition, UT's Guadagni, Peters value friendship
Decided to look at the recruiting videos of Peters and Guadagni to see if they gave any insight as to who would appear to be the better QB - coming out of High School.
I thought the video gave some pretty concrete evidence of who would be expected to be the better passer. Of course it doesn't necessarily mean a whole lot since this was from high school and that was 4 years ago for Guadagni and 3 years ago for Peters.
Take a look and see what you think. Maybe have a poll set up later.
Peters:

Guadagni:

Also see who looks to be the better runner - and then, who has the better "total package" based on HS results.
