RE: Discussion Friday: SBC Rivalry Week in Football?
San Marcos and that Texas hill country area are great. Far though. Monroe actually has pretty good food though. Not saying it’s Lafayette, but good food and good times can be had in Monroe.

The teams that would be considered geographic rivals will play each other every year (including South/Troy although they are in separate divisions.)
I don't know that we need to have all the presumed rivalries all playing on the same weekend. We're going to play them anyway.
With basketball, there's a possibility of playing your rival 3-4-5 times in a season. Not so football.

No offense to ULM but our fans have 0 interest in visiting Monroe. San Marcos and Monroe are 501 miles apart. It's not close.
I didn't say it was close.. I said it was "one of the closest schools." aside from UL it is the next closest. With UL matched up against stAte already it made since to go with ULM.

ULL is matches up with ULM already. If they kept ULL with stAte it might make sense.

All three of these teams will play each other every year no matter what under the new divisional system, this thread is talking about putting the rivalry games all on the same weekend
