George Will decides to switch parties
Quote:Conservative columnist George Will is making the argument to vote against Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections.
In a piece published Friday in the Washington Post, Will says that President Trump's "zero tolerance" policy at the border was "the most telegenic example of misrule" and it provided “fresh if redundant evidence for the principle by which” independents and moderate Republicans should vote.

That principle he says is that the number of Republicans in office must be “substantially reduced.”
"The principle: The congressional Republican caucuses must be substantially reduced. So substantially that their remnants, reduced to minorities, will be stripped of the Constitution’s Article I powers that they have been too invertebrate to use against the current wielder of Article II powers," Will wrote. "They will then have leisure time to wonder why they worked so hard to achieve membership in a legislature whose unexercised muscles have atrophied because of people like them."

This guy is a true piece of Human Fecal Matter. He is an example of the GOP elite that has not CLUE about the voters that matter

Like I said in the midterms thread, this 77 year old is the walking dead. Nobody cares what he says or thinks except George Will.

I knew Will was a never Trumper, but didn't realize he was an @$$hole. He's the kind of GOP'er that only support Bush, McCain, Romney (LOSERS) kind of conservatism.

RE: George Will decides to switch parties
Twenty years or so ago I wouldn't miss the Sunday morning show with Will, Cokie, and Sam "snake eyes" Donaldson for anything. Will was my favorite commentator.

Then slowly but surely he seemed to morph, and I came to understand that, in the end, he was all about concentrating power in DC, a staunch federalist if you will.

I listened to him less and less, then not at all. With this story, he's dead to me now.

Either you care about the constituents that are the GOP base and want more representation for them, or you're a democrat, there is NO middle ground.

Just like in 2016, I'll gladly trade never Trumpers (the only thing they know how to do is lose) for blue dog dems and libertarians.

I saw the energy in Duluth the other night. I'm not buying what george and other never Trumpers are selling. They are doing what they think is good for their own pocket book, for brownie points at cocktail parties, not what is best for the country. They can f**k off.

George Will is an elitist pr#ck. Whatever party he is in will never change that fact. Bill Kristol is the same.

you could poll 10k in the flyover states asking, "who is George Will?".....10k responses would either be spit/laughter in your face or who porked his porcupine last night.....

what an arrogant/pompous piece of slime he's always been.....

hockey puck all these jello-tin-foil biatches...........k

Dude is trying to now say Dems are now the deplorables. I guess they're trying to stir up the base. Sorry but when you run on high taxes, implementation of a healthcare plan that's expensive, doesn't work, and acts as a fine, and then piss and moan about an issue then won't work to fix the issue, you deserve to lose seats. If I pulled that at my job, I'd be fired. I still love how none of the libs can tell me one thing Trump has done wrong as President.

The only thing he knows anything about anymore is baseball. Somehow he lost his way after Reagan.
