UConn is strongly considering exiting on their own for football independence/Big East membership. UH & Cincy are the likely other departures at the first available opportunity with UCF & USF the only other schools attractive enough to leave under a perfect storm of circumstances.

I'd be good with AAC under most any circumstances. But I suspect the only time that any openings appear in the AAC it when that leaves either morphs or disappears. I could see us in a CUSA scenario where the league expands with the intention of splitting into two regional leagues. It is unlikely but is the only way I see us making that move.

I suspect that we are Indy/A-Sun for the foreseeable future. And by that I mean until the Big XII GOR (expires 2025) is nearing conclusion in 5-6 years and the next wave of realignment hits. Hopefully we are getting things done in football & hoops enough at that point to merit attention. The media rights issues will likely be less frazzled by that point as well.

LU wins the all-sports trophy in year one of the ASUN.

"Prior to leaving the Big South Conference, Liberty Athletics captured 14 Big South Sasser Cup titles during its last 21 years as a conference member."

"Liberty was also presented with the ASUN Conference's Jesse Fletcher (Men's All-Sports) and Sherman Day (Women's All-Sports) Trophies." This is only the third time an ASUN schools has won all three trophies.

As of yesterday, only official documentation keeps us in the ASUN between now & July 1st, as our final two athletes to compete in the ASUN finished at the NCAA T&F Championships.

Calli Doan finished 11th in the Women's 3000M Steeplechase on Saturday night, & Kevin Nedrick placed 5th in the Men's Discus on Friday night. Congrats to both for finishing in the finals of their respective events, & especially Nedrick for finishing top 5 in the nation!
