I choice both because I really think UConn and Memphis will return to normal at the about the same rate.
The AAC should routinely field 4 to 5 teams in the NCAA Tourney and it will not happen without powerful Huskie and Tiger programs.

UConn does not get enough credit and respect from the national media for their outstanding results. Four NC's!

RE: Who will get back to their old selves faster? UConn or Memphis?
How do we always get ignored when it comes to AAC programs that are trying to regain former glories? We're constantly overlooked in this conference when it comes to teams that could be major contributors to the basketball success. We won the damn regular season two years ago and aren't that far removed from being a consistent tourney team. People are always listing UH, Cinci, SMU, Wichita, Memphis, UConn as the potential core of a great conference, and somehow the 5th winningest program in NCAA history is an afterthought. Temple was supposed to be one of the flagship basketball programs, along with Memphis and UConn, when this conference was founded not so long ago. Those other programs go belly-up, and everyone wonders when they're coming back. We have a down era and suddenly we're not looked at as a core program going forward.
When Dunphy finally goes and we rebuild, Temple is going to regularly compete for the conference title.

They get their fair share of credit. UConn is inconsistent, like UCLA. The other programs that have that many titles are in the tournament almost every year as a Final Four caliber seed, except UCLA.

It really is unfortunate, because Temple certainly belongs in any conversation regarding the top overall AAC basketball programs. If Nova wasn't in the same city, there's no doubt in my mind that that Owls would receive more recognition.
It's been almost 20 years since your last Elite Eight and 60 years since the Final Four, so I think very few younger folks have any recollection when Temple was strong.

You just answered your own question. Fire Dunphy and the perception will change. I fear you guys are in that same spot that Memphis was in. Meaning stuck with a coach with a great reputation who'll NEVER get you there, until you say screw the national perception and do what is right for Temple you're just treading in the waters of irrelevance

Yup. He put the Temple basketball program to sleep. Eventually, it'll wake up; unsure of what happened the season before.

I’m not sure why ECU isn’t on this poll. Pretty sure they will be back to their old selves next year.
