Porter?

Big, big day for Roback! Will be interested to hear how many teams show up to take a look at him.

Antoine Porter, I'm guessing.

Still trying to figure out who Robinson is.

EDIT: Nevermind, it's Lavonte Robinson. The internet is my friend.

I hope Sergio Bailey shows out. He has NFL hands, plus he shows up on film, but I don't know how his speed/agility will measure up. If he does well in those categories, he could put himself into the "late round" category.

A little O/T but I wish there was another spring league like the USFL, minus the crazy spending, so players not good enough for the NFL had other options.

Last I checked there wasn't a pro football league (American-style) in Europe, etc.

No there is basically the CFL My understanding is there are usually one or two CFL teams that check us out. EMU has a few players in the CFL both Canadian and American.

Actually I remember that. Trump owned the N.J. Generals and went on a spending spree building a very expensive team, with Herschal Walker as the star. Was Doug Flutie the QB?

He helped spend the USFL into the ground and a lot of wealthy owners bailed. I believe the Taubman (sp) family owned the Michigan Panthers which was a good FB team.

RE: EMU Pro Day
Bailey looked great today, ran 4.49-4.53, probably still a free agent, but gave himself a chance.

Roback had great day throwing the ball. Here's a 'prediction' for the board. Brogan gets drafted late by the Steelers. Roethlisberger getting old, Charlie Batch connection.........you heard it here first, haha.

I like hearing that about Bailey and Brogan. Steelers would be a great place for him to learn in a winning organization, who has always had a solid running game to help their QBs.

IF Roback makes it, it will 'prove' one of my concerns:

Others like our athletes more than we do.

I am a Roback fan. More to like than to dislike. As we discussed in other threads, Roback dealt with a rebuilding OL and had injuries most of the season.

Put him behind the 'seven blocks of granite' and he'd shine.

Love hearing that about Bailey. I'd like to see the Lions take a late-round chance on him, or sign him as a UDFA.

You might get your wish. Bailey had a Lion at EMU today supporting him:

He and Agnew apparently played high school ball against each other in Cali

Anyone find video from yesterday? I thought in years past Athletics posted a wrap up video from the Pro Day.

RE: EMU Pro Day
This new league seems to be serious and well conceived with folks who understand the business of sports. Doesn't appear to be a Vince McMahon whatever. Has a chance to make it as a spring league.

I hope it gets off the ground next spring and can be place for those players who are almost, but not quite, good enough for the NFL.

The quality of college FB is so good now that one can take a few seniors from each MAC team and put them into a league and they could play good ball.

If Roback doesn't make a NFL roster or development squad this would be a good league for him.
