If Dan Hurley does not hear what he wants from his meeting with URI today. Meaning if the are not willing to invest in the program, He will be heading to UConn. Per source

Hurley has reached his ceiling at Rhode Island.

His ceiling is much higher in Storrs.

This is definitely the most important move for the conference as a whole this offseason IMO. Getting UCONN back on the right track is HUGE.

Well I think getting Memphis, UConn and Temple back to high levels is very important. So Memphis made a move, UConn is trying and it appears Temple is on the clock. If they were all playing at a high level with what the league already has it would be an exceptional b-ball league. Who would have thought those 3 programs would be where they are. I honestly expected them to be more like Cincinnati to be honest who has consistently fielded strong teams since the league formed. Had they been this league would have been something to watch over the last few years. Certainly, not meant to take anything away though from some of the other teams who have risen in the meantime.

Can UCONN get enough on the table? Pitt is willing to pay similar to what WSU pays Marshall.

Rumored offer is 4 years/$10 Mil base + bonuses/incentives

Rothstein just tweeted Pitt has offered in excess of 3 million per year. I am rooting for UConn though as I think he would be a great fit.

Dan Hurley has offers. Pittsburgh’s is more than UConn’s, but the key becomes how close David Benedict and UConn can get to Pitt. Hurley hasn’t met with URI athletic director Thorr Bjorn yet. He will sit down and evaluate after getting all the info and then make a decision.

I cannot imagine the emotional distress our friends in Storrs will suffer if they lose Hurley to an ongoing disaster of a program like Pitt.

Last I heard it was a 2 man race between UCONN and URI, but this could complicate things. How much does Hurley wanna stay in New England?

If this sh**show continues beyond this week, I hope we just withdraw and go the Oats/Musselman route.
