Maybe they should just cancel football and go undefeated.

My 2 cents mean just that. I think it sucks. Think it sucked when Fleck stopped the hitting in the game. It's boring. And not many people will go.

The article all but hints that this is going to be played in Seelye and will be off limits to all but family and big tickets donors.

RE: No Spring Game
This article from BC says the practice will be outside... weather permitting.

https://www.battlecreekenquirer.com/stor...439432002/

Western Michigan has announced it will conclude its spring season with a practice open to the public, Saturday, March 31, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Waldo Stadium. Should weather force the practice inside to the Seelye Center, only student-athlete families and club level ($500) ticket holders will be permitted due to seating capacity limitations. The decision to move the practice inside will be made no later than March 28.

I was hoping after last seasons results Lester would do everything different this year. I hope that if our opponent gets a fifteen yard penalty on a third and long play and we have the option to have them third and 25 or decline penalty and have them fourth and one at midfield, we take the penalty this year.

Their top 5 RBs are hurt, only two healthy. Can’t play a game with one RB per team.

A lot of schools play Offense vs. Defense instead of dividing into two "teams," use a scoring system where Defense gets points for three and outs, turnovers, etc.

Could do that with only two RBs.

Have to give kids something to look forward to at end of Spring ball, not just another practice. Plus it's another opportunity for community event to promote program.

RE: No Spring Game
Frustrating. The MLive article says they want fans to instead come to the August fan appreciation day, which was really good last year: http://www.mlive.com/broncos/index.ssf/2..._prac.html

OK, fine, but why not do both? I still think there is untapped potential. The reason the Spring Game never drew a lot of fans is because they didn't do much to promote it, and didn't do much when you got there, often not even printing off rosters. Hopefully someday someone realizes this. I have a dream...

This isn't tradition. Lester is mocking our history.

"Year One". No spring game. Who does he think he is?

**yes, this is sarcasm**

Too many injuries in Spring Games in the past, it's just not worth the risk to the coaches. Gotta keep the players healthy for when it matters.

Maybe some of you want to stop supporting the Broncos because they are having an open practice and not a "game." They did the same thing last year, I went and it was fine. I plan on going again this year so I hope the weather is nice so this event can happen in Waldo Stadium.

Go Broncos!!

Go Broncos!!

I look at the spring game as another chance to promote your product. The game is secondary and the format can be tweaked to insure player injuries won’t occurr.

Our marketing department needs to put on their thinking caps and produce a family friendly event to build a young fan base.

Kids kick off
Kids kick field goals
Player autographs
Player selfies
Catch a pass from a Bronco QB

Drawings for memerobilia
Drawings for season pass
Drawing for a press box pass

Tailgate with free hotdogs
Let vendors set up stands around the stadium to sample products.

There are a ton of low cost ideas that will generate foot traffic and interest.

Our marketing department is stuck on posters, thunderclappers, and sponsored events like Comm U and ECCU Kids day. Might be a great project for a Marketing class at the business school.

While I wasn’t a Fleck fan, the guy was out in the community humping the bushes to generate interest in WMU. Our marketing people need to be doing that.
