The same goes with Grad/Undergrad school. I've always heard to not get your Grad at the same school as your undergrad as it's often taught by the same teachers. You learn more with new perspective.

Did he sign a letter of intent? What is the American's policy on interconference transfers? If they kept the same Big East bylaws, he would be banned from attending Memphis, even if released from his letter of intent. If the kid did live with Penny (I am not doubting it, I just don't know the whole story), the situation is somewhat similar to Doug McDermott. He signed with Northern Iowa out of high school, but when his dad got the Creighton job, UNI released him so he could play for his dad.
