As to Oats leaving, it's certainly possible. But UB just locked him in to a new contracts (two weeks ago) that moves his buyout to 1.5 million dollars. That buyout, and the team he has returning next year, might be enough to keep him around for another season.

Hey maybe that is why we are playing @FSU in football this year....to buyout an actual good coach's contract!

I would like to see MD come back. I thought that people gave him too much of a hard time. He could take some positions that seemed a bit "out there" at times but I never felt that her was offensive and I enjoyed his participation in this community.

I sort of miss 7 as well, not sure what happened to him.

+ 1/2

He was high jacking EVERY FREAKIN' thread circling back to some some NEGATIVE (read Eeyore) slant.

I promise you that's where he would have taken this "Buffalo vs AZ" thread.

It's been a few months and I'd understand if the mods wanted to give him a chance if he'd agree to be a "part" of this Board like most of us do.

If the over/under is 7 years for NIU making the NCAA tournament what do you choose?
How about NIU winning a tournament game? 20 years?

+1. He never got personal with anyone. His crazy conspiracies provided comic relief - and he’d occasionally be onto something way before anyone else (Orange Bowl!).

He was just MD being MD. Such a passionate fan who went on roadtrip after roadtrip. As someone who treasures the Saturday FB roadtrips, that always resonated with me. And he was crazy enough to do it on frigid weeknights!

Wouldn’t be surprised if there weren’t more than a dozen NIU fans out there more dedicated than him.

I did....Arizona has burned me enough in March Madness. Since 1985, they have been in the the NCAA tourney 32 times yet bounced out of the first round a total of 12 times.

The really sad point is that most of us on this board will be dead before NIU wins a tournament game. How about two MAC teams in the women's final 16.

The MAC is an excellent conference for women's basketball. The teams play good, tough basketball. As I follow women's basketball, I have seen a lot of the teams play. CMU and Buffalo are superb teams. I don't know how Coach Sue Guevara does it, but she has a top team year after year at CMU. Maybe it's because she is so grandmotherly. At any rate, the ladies in this conference play the game very well, tough, and aggressively.

RE: Buffalo vs AZ
MAC Women's Basketball is underrated.
The question is will this run by CMU & Buffalo help the Conference next year?
I would hope the election committee looks at us a little differently.
