Lots of opportunity for Monty to grab some players that will be plug and play.

We can use a solid power forward or Center.

We had a center and now he's transfering. Monty never played him. At 7', he could have been worthwhile on a high pick and roll with Geno?!

He was improving at the end but he wasn't ready for this level. Great kid but could have used a redshirt to build his strength and speed. He was outmatched against centers with any speed.

Hamilton looked way overmatched this year. I wish him the best wherever he ends up. He needs to get a heck of a lot stronger to play college at any level much less D1.

Good luck to Hamilton but he should be playing D3.

I’m not quite sure D3 is the landing spot—-he’s a big kid and would probably be fairly productive at D2—I’m sure of the timing, but he real may be a victim of bad circumstances. Not sure how his signing and Maric’s move to DePaul lined up. That coupled with Key’s injury and Zelis never being able to get back forced Hamilton to “some” playing time. With Maric, Key, Bradley, James (especially Maric and James) all in rotation Owen would have been able to redshirt and gotten a much needed year in the weight room and at practices. He was simply a rag doll out on the court. His size will play pretty well at notch down. Will be interested to see where he lands.

He is 7foot so I think he lands at a Wisconsin school because he wants to be home and will redshirt somewhere.[/b]

Wait, Hamilton, a top 50 center in entire country coming out of college and second coming of TJ Lux to many just a short time ago is leaving? Shocked. 03-no

Was he really rated a top 50 center? Wow...he looked lost out there and lacked any sort of aggression. I wish him well, but if he was, maybe goes to show more the overall state of big men coming out of high school.

NIU sent out a release about him leaving last Monday or Tuesday.
Short and sweet with Monty thanking him for his efforts.
