These guys are proof that you can build a midmajor powerhouse in the state of IL with a bunch of overlooked IL kids . Hope they’re taking lots of Notes.... By the way am pretty sure they never cracked the top 25 this season.

Points in the paint is unbelievable versus the the new trend of 45% of shots from 3 point line. Great coaching and smart basketball.

Loyola is not a 'powerhouse', nor are they made up of 'a bunch of overlooked Illinois kids' 03-lmfao

Loyola is absolutely a mid major powerhouse this season. They are 29-2 with Custer, 4-0 against top 25 teams, and ran roughshod around the #8 rpi conference (#1 for mid majors).

They’re the last mid major standing.

Cameron Krutwig is not an "overlooked Illionis kid". NIU may have overlooked him but he was two-time all-state selection.

Overlooked means barely any of the power conferences recruited them.

RE: Loyola University-Chicago
Loyola's top five contributors by minutes played:

Clayton Cluster (Iowa State transfer, not from Illinois)
Ben Richardson (10 offers including offers from UMass, SFA, and UNC-Wilmington, not from Illinois)
Donte Ingram (5 offers from unimpressive mid-majors, from Illinois)
Marques Townes (5 offers including interest from Rhode Island, Rutgers, and Miami, not from Illinois)
Cameron Krutwig (21 offers from just about every mid-major on the planet *cough* NIU too *cough*, from Illinois)

None of these kids are "overlooked". You know who was "overlooked"? Eugene German. I'm sure you know, Geno had one offer out of high school, and two years later he's leading the MAC in scoring. That's the proper definition of "overlooked".

Cameron Krutwig was not over looked by NIU! He had a scholly offer from the Huskies. Loyola freshman Lucus Williamson also was offered by the Huskies.

NIU can't even make it to Cleveland and Loyola is going to the Final Four.
Truly Unbelievable!

Like all of you, I hope to see NIU here someday, but Loyola is really easy to root for. It's a lot of fun to see one of our local teams have their moment in the limelight. Go Ramblers! How bad ass would it be if they won one more and got to play for the national championship?

So according to the "NIU should have elevated their program because they made the Orange Bowl" posters, Loyola should be expected to be have at least several sweet sixteen appearances over the next 5 years. And if they don't make it out of the first round, or god forbid they do not make the tournament, the coach is a complete failure and has ruined this opportunity.

Two different sports, terrible comparison.

Success in one sport means nothing to success in another? Apples to orange bowls I guess. Only football gets a boost in recruiting, fans, money and media exposure when Making the big stage? Or they're supposed to anyway, right?
