New Mexico State (24-5, 11-2) wins it's 3rd WAC Championship in four years.

Congrats to the Aggies! You've got a lot of classy guys on your team so I am happy for you. Hopefully, it just means a trip to the NIT for you all though.

I think what you mean is a trip to the NCAA tournament as either the first or second bid for the WAC.

No, I meant NIT cause I am still holding out hope that GCU will win the WAC tournament and go to the big dance. As regular season champs you are now guaranteed at least an NIT invite.

NMSU's worst finish in the WAC standings was their first season (2005-06); when they finished tied for 4th with a 16-14 overall record and a 10-6 conference record. And, that was in Theus' first season as NMSU's coach. The season prior, NMSU was at rock bottom in the Sun Belt with a record of 6-24 overall record; 1-14 in the Sun Belt. Since then, NMSU has only had one losing season... and that was (as you pointed out) the 2010-11 season with a 16-17 record. We still finished 3rd in the WAC though.
