CAA Postseason Awards: Who you got?

Those awards are usually based on how well you fill out a stat sheet over the season and not situational matchups.

I can't imagine CaCock gets left off first team either.

I’d put money on it that he will be, if I were a gambling man.

I understand that, and I don't disagree that Knight will probably get it over Cacok. It would absolutely be the wrong pick though. Sure I am biased, but I can also step back and see why it is a joke that a player that leads the nation in rebounds and is 2nd in double/doubles doesn't make first team all conference. The only reason Knight averages 1 more point p/g is because he is a better free throw shooter. Cacok averages 6 more rebounds p/g, and has 10 more dbl/dbls. Nearly identical FG % and attempts. Knight's 2 blocks and 2 assists p/g have Cacok beat, but I just can't fathom how that outweighs Cacok's nation/conference leading stats. I guess I just have a different opinion of what filling out a stat sheet is.

Cacok averages a double double with much less minutes played than any of the others in contention. Thanks to the crosshairs that the officials have placed on him this year. That's a legitimate consensus among coaches. Don't understand why it's happening, except maybe he is being penalized for his strength.
Plus, is there another player in the CAA that leads the nation in anything? Not to mention 5 or 6 categories.

RE: CAA Postseason Awards: Who you got?
You guys are forgetting the history of the voting. There is great inertia. Those that were on the preseason first team have a huge advantage. Also, it isn't a Cacok vs. Knight situation anyway, they do not vote for the 1st team center, it is merely 5 guys. It could be 5 guards. While I think team success should be a relevant factor, name recognition is as well. I think as long as Hofstra finishes in the top 4(and they almost certainly will), Wright-Foreman is going to be the player of the year. I think Chealey is a lock as well. As for the other 3 spots, if it were today, I think Pusica, Cacok, Knight, Cohn, Z. Martin, and Sebring are all viable candidates. Daly would have been a lock if he hadn't gotten hurt(again preseason honors and name recognition). Cacok likely will be on there because he was preseason 1st team and has had a good season.

Right now, let's go with Chealey, Wright-Foreman, Pusica, Cacok and Knight on the first team. But, how guys finish the next 6 games should matter.

BTW, the Tribe needs to win tonight or Charleston becomes the overwhelming favorite for both the regular season title and the tournament in 3 weeks.
