Cacok
Just had a week where he averaged 20 pts. and 18 rebounds. Can't see how he doesn't get POW. That's crazy.

Quite right Bill, but I have never seen on the court and not give his all. He is an exceptional young man.

RE: Cacok
CAA got it wrong. Yes, a couple of guys had a great week of scoring. But when a guy averages not just a double/double, but a double double nearing a 20/20 average for a week, that is your POW. 20 pts. and 18 rebounds average beats 30.5ppg and 6 reb. avg. all day long.

Put it this way. The POW made 5 more shots per game, but had 12 less rebounds per game. It devalues the contributions of post players, since they don't have the ball in their hands to control who does or doesn't get shots. Cacok leads the nation in rebounds, and just had the most rebounds of any player in the nation in a game and still gets no recognition. And he averaged 20 points while doing it.

He may well get POY in the CAA but never get POW.

Pitiful.

The CAA office has never impressed me very much. They continue to not impress...

Latest episode of "One Shining Podcast" The Ringer's College basketball podcast discusses Cacok as a potential NBA Draft sleeper around the 37 minute mark. Pretty cool to hear.

He lost me when he said Devonte can play every position from the 1-5. And he thinks he is a wing! Devonte still has another year to develop under Wolf and that could make all the difference in the world. If I were his agent, I would tell him to stay at UNCW 1 more year.

let's hope he doesn't have an agent. That would be big problems. LOL

I think the 1-5 stuff was more sarcasm than anything as they had been referencing "positionless" basketballl throughout the pod. Also, sounds like he thinks Cacok is a senior. Regardless, it is still good publicity for the kid, and the program. Thought I'd share it. That is my go to college basketball podcast. Tate is a UNC grad, he has always been high on Keatts, and is optimistic about McGrath.

I would imagine he thinks that based off of Cacok's stats, and size (if he's seen him). It's hard to imagine a guy that was a true sophomore last year putting up the kind of FG% he did, and then following it up with a year where he leads the nation in RPG, Rebounds period, OFF Reb, and Def Reb. He's an absolute monster the last couple years. Next year should be FANTASTIC to watch. Truly, one of the UNCW greats already.

it was a smart move for him, he went to a place where he fit better, compiled better numbers and played himself into a pro contract overseas

However I'm pretty certain 33 was talking State's benchwarmer

Can't blame him at all, and in fact, I was happy for him when he made that decision. He'd graduated already, and got to play in front of his folks a few times, being an Ohio kid playing in the Big 10.

His 22 minutes per game with RU was a significant bump from his Junior season here (15.6), and he got to start all 33 games, which were more starts than he got his previous 2 seasons combined (32).

I don't blame him either, was just simply making a joke. Obviously, we know which C.J. he was referring to.
