We are already tough to beat. 2 buzzer beaters against GaSou and Texas State, and an overtime loss to AppSt. Ask those teams if we are hard to beat. Obviously we haven't been able to get over the hump and learned to win close games. Hopefully, we will learn to close games. If we don't Wes will likely not get a 4th year. But anyone who thinks he won't be back next year is deluding themselves.

I'm sure you're right about that, and you were right about Shields the last two or three, at least as long as Peterson was there. I'll give Chasse credit for making the right moves, and then made a great hire. Sure didn't look good on this hire. One more year like the last two, and they may have to give season tickets away. Out of following Trojan ball for about thirty years, seems like this program has been on the ropes more times than Cassius Clay laid on the ropes in the Foreman fight at the "Thrilla in Manila".

Pretty sure the "Thrilla in Manila" was against Frazier. The Foreman fight with the Rope-a-dope was the "Rumble in the Jungle" in Zaire.

Sorry wrong countries, and wrong opponent and obviously the wrong ropes, but it's been a while. The fact remains, we can't seem to get two coaches back to back that can keep a good thing going...Platt followed Newell. Moncrief followed Wimp. Shields was over .500 but couldn't keep Porter's movement going, and now Flannigan followed the best season ever with two flops.

I

I figure you are right. But he has not shown the coaching during games that makes me think he will be extended past the three years he is supposed to be signed for. He may be great in practice, but he just does not hold kids accountable during games.
