Repeat offender released from jail, then arrested by ICE agents
Quote:ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – ICE has arrested a convicted felon after he was released from the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center, a jail they say is "in a jurisdiction that does not honor ICE detainers.”

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officials say 31-year-old Luis Talamantes-Acosta had completed serving a sentence for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession charges before they arrested him on Monday.

A search of New Mexico court records shows he has been convicted of Driving Under the Influence, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

ICE Fugitive Operations Officers have been following Talamantes-Acosta’s case since 2002. Officers say at that time, he was granted a voluntary return to Mexico after he was caught trying to enter the country illegally. He again encountered ICE agents on May 15, 2010 while behind bars at MDC for driving under the influence.

An immigration judge ordered Talamantes-Acosta be removed from the country and The Board of Immigration Appeals dismissed his appeal on Jan. 29, 2013 at which time ICE says he became an ICE fugitive.

Agents located and arrested him on April 8, 2013, but he was released pending further immigration proceedings.

The latest arrests were in Oct. 2016 when Talamantes-Acosta was arrested for drug possession and again in Jan. 2017 when he was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, both of which he was convicted.

ICE says their National Fugitive Operations Program prioritizes its efforts toward illegal immigrants who pose threats to the community such as gang members, child sex offenders and those with prior violent crime convictions.

I could solve all of this noble state government protection of illegal aliens overnight.

$50 reward for each one reported. That ends it.
