Tammy Duckworth is expecting her 2nd child. She will become the first Senator in history to give birth when she has the baby in April (I think 10 women in the House have given birth but she'll become the first Senator).

I'm sure Democrats and Republicans alike are happy for her - she's a retired lieutenant colonel who served 23 years in the Illinois National Guard. She lost her legs and shattered her right arm when her Black Hawk helicopter was shot down in Iraq.

She and her husband have tried for some time now to get pregnant. They did have their first daughter two years ago through in-vitro, and now she's expecting their second child also through fertility treatments.

I liked her insult to Trump. She called him Corporal Bone Spurs, and he did not fired back at. Seems like he is giving her a past because of what she went through almost losing her life for this country.

His second wife was about 40 years younger than him. A former Miss South Carolina, IIRC. They stayed together for about 20 years. I think they had 3 or 4 kids.

I've heard some legendary stories about Strom Thurmond from people who worked with or for him. He was a man's man, that's for sure.
