The whole WAC wants to add another team in the Southwest Division (aka Texas) is a huge issue for the Southland Conference.

All the potential candidates are public institutions and not in urban areas. Presumably the schools would want to be in the WAC in an all Texas division featuring 5 public schools and 1 private school vs being in the Southland where there are three remaining Texas institutions, two of whom are private and all of whom are in urban areas.

The good thing is the WAC and the school(s) know exactly who is going that route. While we can speculate and don't have much of an idea, the schools all know what's up and have good ideas of how this will shake out for the WAC, Southland and the D2 Lonestar Conferences.
