Will Tuzar Skipper be back in 2018 (did he receive a med RS????)
Can anyone answer this? I believe he was injured early in season (Miami game?) and therefore would be eligible.

Insights?

RE: Will Tuzar Skipper be back in 2018 (did he receive a med RS????)
I think this was on another thread. He was hurt on the opening kick-off of the third game of the year (Nevada or Tulsa). He would be eligible to return on a medical waiver. Someone said he was coming back, but I don't know if that is official and was likely also dependent on if he was fully recovered from the ACL tear. I believe that was his injury - also known in Toledo as having a Norwood kNee....(was that too soon?)

There was talk he was coming back. Can't recall if it came from the team or fans. Of course, he had a serious injury so we won't know how he will recover. Many high level athletes now return from ACL surgeries at or near full strength in 10-12 months but some still never recover enough explosiveness to play again. Then, there's also the hurdle of missing a long period of practice and reps and needing to get your muscle memory back. He seems like a guy who deserves to have a full career. Well liked player who's been through a lot in his life and found the courage to persevere and excel.

Was sitting next to Rangerrocket at the MACC game at Ford. Sitting behind the Rocket's bench area and saw Skipper on the sidelines. Couple of things we noticed about Skipper - he reminds me of Greg Oden from Ohio State basketball in that he looks like he could pass for 35 years old while still in college. He also has an NFL body and had a couple of guns on him standing on the sidelines. Looks like he could put on 25 pounds and still be lean and athletic looking. He's the guy you want getting off the bus first on a road trip...

Yep !! But back in the 90’s G. Pinkel had an o-lineman by the name of J. Englehard that went about 6-10 320. GP said that he always looked good coming off the bus, but never played a down.

I think he was a FR my SR year...huge kid. If I recall correctly, he had a foot injury, that never seemed to heal. I'm not sure if I ever saw him in pads.

Who was the guy that holds the UT career record for yards per carry? Took a fake punt snap and ran for thirty or forty at 6’8”, 350 or so. We’ve had some big uns.

Erik Faasen: 6-9, 350# against Central Michigan up in Mt. Pleasant, sometime in the early 2000's, maybe 2004 or 2005

He was the tallest camera guy in the MAC. Finished out his scholarship as a student camera assistant.

No, it was at CMU. Remember watching it on TV.

OK, I knew I saw it but figured it couldn’t have been on TV. Thanks Fred and Ranger.

I was at the game, but if I would have been questioned on the year - I would have said 2001 in the first game after 9/11. Pretty sure that was the game. I try to relate games to other events so I can catalogue them in my memory. I remember him doing it along with Taylor having a TD run that was right in front of where I was sitting and I was close enough that I could hear the grunt and groan of the DB who got faked out of his jock by Taylor around the 10 yard line. He tackled air - and may have got a hand on Taylor's leg - but nothing else.

Also they had Faasen at 6'9. That was when Toledo had the largest (or at least top 2) offensive lines in the country in terms of size and weight. I think it was Wisconsin that was bigger. Now that part my memory is not so good on - it happened in one of those years when Faasen was playing. I think his career intersected with Kaczur.
