Obedient!
"The players are listening," he added later on. "They're being obedient, and following the scouting report."

Obedient is just such a strong word to me. I wouldn't even use that word towards my children or grandchildren.

Well since you are so quick to make light of it, when is the last time you used the word obedient? Do you tell your co-workers you expect them to be obedient? Your wife? Oh wait, that wouldn't suprise me at all, do you expect obedience from you wife? Tell us the truth.

My dad used that word a lot. Meant he was in charge. He wasn't using it to be mean.

High profile teenage recruits cannot resist playing for a coach whose byword is obedience.

Any one word used in a single quote is a byword?

Yep. I am not a slave-owner. So tell us, is your wife obedient to you? I am sure you expect her to be obedient.

Ok, so open up to us all. Who do YOU expect obeidence from? Give us a list of those who should be obedient to you.

Interesting how all these obedient "defenders" can't list the people they expect to be "obedient" to them. What are you embarrassed to say who you think should bow to you and obey you?

What are you talking about?

The players were obedient and followed the scouting report. Tubby told them the report and expected them to follow it. Had they not, they would have been disobedient. It's not a bad word.

I understand you don't like Tubby as a coach. Many don't, but you're stretching here IMO.

Peace out. I gotta obey my bed time.

Hah, so you refuse to answer the question.. Once again I ask, who should be obedient to you?

My fixation on it is due to the offensiveness of it. I have children, I have grandchildren, I have employees. Never once in my life have I ever told someone they should be obedient, or obey me. Have you? Never in my life have I ever had someone tell me that I should be obedient towards them or obey them.

But I am open to new experiences, so all of you who think people should be obedient to you, give us a list of those who you tell that to.

BB, you act like it's the eff word. But at least you admit your odd fixation, similar to your odd fixation on criticizing our coach every day.

And yes, obviously I have told my children to obey me. The bible says "Children, obey your mother and father, for this is right." Does that offend you?

And you seem to very easily offended. The anti-Tubby cabal just will never be happy. '83 predictably jumped in on Post 6 to passive aggressively attack our coach. Don't worry, we are going to lose more games this season. Then you can post again about how lazy and senile and overpaid Tubby is - you know, your idea of fun.

As usual, people who want to attack other Memphis fans don't actually use facts. Do you want to also include the positives I have posted? How about give us a list of the people who should obey YOU? I notice how you left out those who should be obedient to you. Interesting that you are too afraid to give us a list of the people you think should be obedient to you.

Hey dumb dumb, I answered your imbecilic, leading question. Read again. And then get a tissue, snowflake. You seem unhinged.

I personally don’t use the word. I do say to my sons that they should honor their mom and dad and thus if you’re honoring your parents you will do as they say. Maybe it’s an old school word from tubby’s past.

I can think of a couple we need to be obedient to though....God and His Son Jesus. Which often times it is difficult to always be obedient to Him. But with that said, one day we will all bow down to Him. At that point nobody has a choice.
