Enjoying the turnaround
I had given up after the Cincinnati beat down. Hope everyone else is enjoying it too. I know the players have to be as well.

Yep. What’s not to enjoy. We have a guard that is killing it and we now have a big that is playing very well.

Brewton, Rivers, and Davenport nice additions too... got to get Nickelberry and Jamal playing their best.

I am not shocked by Martin, but I am pretty close to be shocked by Parks. I didn't expect that at all. He has a better shot than I ever thought he would have.

Parks has a better everything than he had six weeks ago.

I have enjoyed watching this team improve--every real fan has 03-idea

The Parks turnaround has probably been the largest that I can remember in any sport at any level in such a short time frame. I'm impressed.

I agree with this. 2 months ago the guy wasn't even a good roadblock, now he is looking like a legitimate big man.

Absolutely... A few weeks ago he looked like he had no business playing basketball at any level above high school. Now he is having a major positive impact for us. I have to give Tubby a lot of credit for sticking with him and letting him figure it out. Also, have to give Parks a lot of credit for not getting in his own head and continuing to work and progress.

Well said.

Another important point is Parks is being very active without getting into foul trouble. Really all of our guys defend well and rarely get into foul trouble, despite playing an aggressive man-to-man D most of the game. Another indication of good coaching.

This is a very strange place tonight.

I'm assuming my CPU glitched and somehow connected me with the bizarro world version of mt.org.

Let's see if it is actually a turnaround or a weak portion of schedule.

My feeling is we played and struggled against a bunch of weak teams earlier. I always thought I saw a few glimmers of hope, but the Cincinnati beatdown was awful.

So, a couple of decent whis against Tulane and Tulsa. Still only mediocre teams, but better than we have wins against so far. Plus the play of Parks.

Then a rd win against a Jeckyll or Hyde Temple that can play. Again more Parks improvement.

Then a home game against a bad UCONN. And we did what you should to bad teams. Beat them down early, pushed the accelerator, and played the walkons at the end. Plus best game yet from Parks.

I enjoyed it. The wait and see approach you are advocating was mocked repeatedly and dericisively earlier this season on this board, so I won't do that to you. Just really hope we can all enjoy this.

The past 2 games they have done better but I am unsure if that is because of the teams we have played or our defense. We are still giving up wide open 3's UConn just couldn't hit em.

Probably some of both. We obviously struggle away from home. Tulsa will be a good test. They played WSU close until the end. Hopefully, we’ll win that game and set up a rematch with Cinci. I think it will a game this time around, although I’d be surprised if we pull it out. But I don’t think it will be near the beat down we got at Cinci.

But, there is no doubt we’re playing better. Wins over Temple, Tulane, Tulsa, and even UConn are more impressive than struggling against most of our OOC teams.

Look, it’s not a return to the Cal years, but this team really plays hard and is getting better. If some of you would get over this strange Tubby hatred thing, you might really enjoy watching these young men play. This has been one of my favorite teams in years....

I’ve enjoyed the last four victories. I hate losing.

All that needs to be done now is winning enough games to qualify for the NCAA Tourney or even the NIT.
