I agree. Tarik has represented his city well and continues to invest his time and money to help improve it. On a nonrelated note, other people’s acts failed to be funny many years ago yet they continue to roll it out. Rather sad actually.

Agree.

With it all.

Whatever.

He's an alum. He played 3 years and banged hard.
Graduated from the school and represents the city thoughtfully.

also got out while the getting was good apparently

He made a business decision that paid off handsomely. If he had remained, I doubt he would be in the position he currently is. Anyone that doesn't see that and doesn't respect that has some serious personal, childish issues.

I was agreeing with y'all. Tarik was the first indicator that some of us homers who had supported Paz that something was harshly wrong behind the scenes.

He QUIT on the TIGERS. I call that a TRAITOR. He is announced as from Kansas.

He didn’t quit. He graduated and was offered an opportunity to get away from an obsessive / compulsive madman.

Save the venom for basketball related posts, not posts about a University of Memphis GRADUATE speaking highly of a Memphis institution on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

I love how some fans criticize Tarik for leaving for a better opportunity after graduating, then applaud players who left Memphis for a better opportunity after one or two years without graduating

At the time, I had ill will at Tarik for leaving. It did seem he was deserting. Now, with much of the truth out, I can't say I blame him. And, yeah, he was always a thoughtful guy.

But it is odd that we get so many Tarik threads - compared to other former players.

And the "once a Tiger..." bit is nothing but an overplayed myth.

Both are putting up those numbers with only 30 minutes per game playing time. Reke will hit the jackpot on his new contract while Will has a couple of years left on his.

Barton is a free agent this summer.

I'm kind of in the same boat. Didn't like it at the time. But now don't blame him. All these people acting like no one was mad at the time and for years after have revisionist history. Tarik was booed loudly at his first game back at the Forum while playing for the Rockets.

You are right. Thought he had another year. He will get a lucrative contract too. He has a 3 year $11M contract now. UFA next year; my guess is he comes in between $7-9M a year with new deal. Tyreke will hit $10-13M a year plus for 3-4 years. BTW, he was a rebound shy of a triple double last night.

It was funny at the end. Jarell rebounded the Lakers last shot, with Tyreke sprinting over to try to get it for the triple double. Jarell gave the "my bad" look to Tyreke.

Wish there was some way that we could keep Tyreke. We could offer the mid-level exception with raises for the years beyond year one, but don't that that will be enough. Whoever trades for him will be happy, IMO, Tyreke has been our best player this season.

he graduated from the university....thats more than a lot of the losers that criticize him can say. he seems to be doing his part to make the city a better place

I don't know what led to his decision to leave and wont speculate. we all have to make decisions about business and our future....what some dipschit on a message board thinks about his decision is probably way down on the list of things hes worried about

everybody has decisions about life and business

So he has a degree from the University of Memphis and nightly announces his alliance to KS. Ouch.
