What are you? 12?

Does this mean that you are cool with Hedgepeth these days?

Unless you know something I don’t, Tarik’s Dad didn’t write letters to potential Memphis recruits touting Kansas on their way out the door.

Good kid, wish him the best, and expect good things from him in the city after his playing days.

Interesting article.

Don't know what all the fuss is about. I read the article and I didn't see any reference except grew up in Memphis, and plays for the Rockets.

But this was a VERY interesting article, Thanks for posting it, Sundance. I must say, I was expecting a professionally written article with quotes from Tarik. What is IS is an article WRITTEN BY Tarik. Surprisingly well written coming from an athlete.

Come on, y'all, you know we all assume all the good athletes get to skate through high school and college without having to learn anything.

I think it was uncle instead of dad, and radio instead of letters.

Tyreke 20 pts/5reb/5ast/1steal

Will. 14pts/5reb/4ast/1steal

Both are putting up those numbers with only 30 minutes per game playing time. Reke will hit the jackpot on his new contract while Will has a couple of years left on his.

Barton is a free agent this summer.

You are right. Thought he had another year. He will get a lucrative contract too. He has a 3 year $11M contract now. UFA next year; my guess is he comes in between $7-9M a year with new deal. Tyreke will hit $10-13M a year plus for 3-4 years. BTW, he was a rebound shy of a triple double last night.

It was funny at the end. Jarell rebounded the Lakers last shot, with Tyreke sprinting over to try to get it for the triple double. Jarell gave the "my bad" look to Tyreke.

Wish there was some way that we could keep Tyreke. We could offer the mid-level exception with raises for the years beyond year one, but don't that that will be enough. Whoever trades for him will be happy, IMO, Tyreke has been our best player this season.

Bargain of the year. I had a feeling when they signed him. Couldn't believe they got him at the value they did.

Chris Wallace: I suck on draft night, but I can rehab undervalued FA's.

That ability has saved Wallace’s job; he wouldn’t be here based on draft results although the Grizzlies have too many people in the draft room;he has never been able to be a GM with full authority.

If Grizzlies had a healthy Conley, they would have a good core 3 this year. Certainly good enough to make the playoffs.

I wouldn't expect anything less from a UofM grad like Tarik.

Legit question: would you then expect a UofM grad like Tarik to have himself announced as an NBA player “from the University of Kansas, Tarik Black” ?

Does that take away the fact he's a UofM grad?
