Improved, but not much
Andre Jones shot 2 of 10 in the last four games from the arc. Pretty bad, but at least it is better than he is shooting for the year (15.8%).

Andre has a ton of talent. He will win us some games, but may lose us some as well. I think with a little more experience, the positives will far outweigh the negatives. I have little doubt he'll be All-Sun Belt, as a senior, if not before.

RE: Improved, but not much
If Andre will stick with his game, he could be great. But right now, at least, he is not a shooter. Maybe that will improve in time.

My main problem with the situation is that he has taken the second-most attempts from the arc on the team, and he is shooting a huge 15.8%. That is a recipe to lose games. I realize you have to attempt a few 3s to keep defenders honest so you can have room to drive, but Andre doesn't have to be shooting quite that many.

After awhile it could be argued quite strongly that those "numbers don't lie". Still, I wonder if he is a good shooter in practice and the coaches just want him to shoot his way out of his "slump". If he is simply not a good outside shooter then, like you said before, it is the job of the coaching staff to reign him in.

RE: Improved, but not much
We had a little bit of the same situation with the tall, slender kid who eventually moved to Texas. His first year here he kept blasting away, but couldn't make anything, but everyone kept saying he was a great shooter. Then, finally, his shot did come around and he was a major weapon. That may be the case with Andre.

On the other hand, we already know that he is a devastating force slashing to the basket and finishing strong, and his FT shooting is beginning to come around. He can make us a living on that.

But he is shooting 25 percent from the arc in the last 6 games.
LOL

We only attempted 12 three-pointers last game, and shot 41.7%. It may be that Wes is telling everyone to be more selective.

Corcoran was 4 or 5 on 3s in the last game.

Cocoran, Lottie, and Bankston. Can't recall the last time we brought in a class of freshman with so much potential and upside. As a fan, I'm willing to take some lumps this season in order to build a program the right way, rather than quick fixes.
