Good win, did what we need to do, especially in the passing game. We have to get after it next week, and set ourselves up for a string of victories and a championship run.

WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Western Michigan beats Georgia St to go 2-2 on the season, ending fears that this would be a repeat of Georgia Southern in Statesboro.

Our backups are already on the field. Actually our scout players are filling in the defense. We are absolutely decimated defensively.

As I said earlier this week, our starters are out in at least 7 positions on defense. I expect everyone will move the ball easily on us. It isnt a jab at WMU but I just see mistakes everywhere.

Even our starting kicker is out with a hip injury.

Injuries suck...we remember losing 21 starters last year in route to six and six. Good luck the rest of the year!!

One thing we've done well going back even into Cubits tenure is beating teams from other G5 Conferences. Lost to Air Force and GA Southern but other then that I don't think we've lost to other-G5 school lately.

Solid attack. Wassink 20 of 25! For 235 and 3TDs. Bogan and Bellamy each over 120. Reed Got 101 on 7 catches and a TD. 7 receivers involved. Drake Spears 9 solo 3 for loss 2 sacks! LB corps 4 of top 7 defenders in tackles today. Tackling was very good. Oline and TE get an A for their efforts. Good to see Borske fill in and make an impact. His 15 yd catch should’ve counted, ***bogus flag***. Coaches deserve credit for a solid game plan. They contained a good scrambling QB. Limited their rushing attack. But we gave up too much on 3rd and long situations, need to clean that up moving into MAC play

Not going to lie, I was worried about this game but the game plan was solid and our long possession based drives just snuffed out any rally they had in them.

Defensively I was impressed, we need to see that kind of aggressiveness going forward.. teams will make us pay at times but if we can force some mistakes I think we can be a factor in the West race.

Not sure too much can be read into the offensive performance. This was already a struggling GSU defense and evidently injuries have decimated it further. But of course we will see a number of questionable defenses throughout MAC play. Most importantly that is the style of play we need to see if WMU is to have success against Ohio, Miami, Toledo, EMU. Some long clock eating drives today reminiscent of the 2016 team.

We have the LBs to make the plays with speed at attack. OLine will dominate many MAC fronts.

A solid win, much needed.

Obviously GS isn’t a juggernaut, but after a rough couple opening weeks, got to tip our hat to the D.

I was worried that we were going to come out flat and unprepared and struggle with this team.

First drive looked shaky and then we got the sack fumble and we took over the game from there.

Solid win on both sides of the ball, just need to cleanup the long 3rd down conversions. Big game next week to open up MAC play on the road vs Miami who looks like they’ll be 1-3 as they’re winning comfortably over bugs

Quite frankly stunned by the improvement in both the defensive game planning AND execution in a relatively short period of time. Well done guys!

Quality of opponent makes a big difference between weeks 1&2 vs 3&4. We have the horses to compete in the MAC. Do we have the braintrust to put them in position to succeed and to make up for our weaknesses?

I had spotty internet service this past weekend so unable to watch. Same next weekend. At least I can relive it here. No time to watch a replay. Can't really comment on what I didn't see.

Thanks for these game day threads. Sounds like a slow start with an explosive end and equally explosive beginning to the halves put this one out of reach for Georgia State.
