Great question.

Question, part II:

Why not start Groce at SF and Bond at SG (even though that isn't his best position)? That would again have the net effect of dual PGs, as Bond has the handle of a PG.

Just happened to see this box score from last night. Dayton's Darrel Davis had one of those 'as good as any' nights last night.

Dayton made 17 treys and killed a good VCU team... really shows how those 'once a season' three balling shooting nights can go. Dayton had 66 at the half.

I think he does...

Most teams go say 7 or 8 deep but most scoring is from say the top 6.

The 'infamous' sixth man being a good scorer, not the 6th best player on the team.

In our case, Bond can come in when say Minnie, Jackson, etc. come out for a break.

Bond can get more instant offense than say Nobles and help the team score and not go into those long droughts we see in college basketball.

It is a 50/50 game

Very obvious that CMU had no answer for him. He ran the court, did the Eurostep, rebounded, etc. etc.

If Groce does all of that again, we should be in good shape. Bond can come off the bench for instant energy and points while the Huskies have the (small) dogs in... Lol.

No more Marin Maric, who has been a thorn in our side for a few years. Curious to see how NIU works it inside, and if Thompson can take advantage of a less than stellar front court.

Coach said he wanted the extra pass. I think they might be passing too much.

Paul Jackson must read this board. He's been playing with his head up and getting guys open looks. That feed to Thompson was pretty.

Bench players proving once again that they can't hang with legitimate D1 opponents... Gonna be problem if we incur any key injuries.

I don't think you can have both Thompson and Minnie on the bench at the same time for too long. No real threat inside offensively.

Agree with Frank and Sam. Our bench is very thin and we get nothing offensively and defensively in the post from the bench. That kills us.

Incredible how the game turned when the subs came in. Everyone wants to play the kids but they have to earn their PT.
