Brad Tanner
Looks like he is moving to wide receiver.

RE: Brad Tanner
He played WR in high school and played an instrumental role in Romeo's beat down of Cass Tech in the D1 championship.

We’re thin at safety, that’s surprising.

I was surprised by that as well. I am holding out hope that someone like Spears might actually go to safety. There is more LB depth than S depth. And safety is what he played in high school I believe.

I’ve heard good stuff about AJ Thomas as well. Richard Sherman type, size, speed, length. Hard position to learn.

Physically, Thomas and Claiborne could both be fine safeties. Just got to learn and learn quickly where and when to be on any given play. And communicate that to the rest of the secondary

A little surprising, but if there’s one position weaker than safety it’s definitely WR.

Maybe it’s a good sign for Tranquill too.

With consistency at QB I think we’re fine at receiver. Eskridge, Watson, Arnett, Curtis, Ricci, Hall, Sanders. Bussel, Reed, Payton could play WR also. Barnes might play there as well. Actually fairly crowded field.

Natural WR. Didn't MSU recruit him as such?

RE: Brad Tanner
He was ranked as the 4th best WR in Michigan coming out of high school by Scout.com. Its possible he was filling a need right out of HS for Fleck in his freshman year (2016)... New coaching staff has now built enough depth to move him back to his natural position...

Who knows... maybe he approached the staff about making the move back to offense...

RE: Brad Tanner
Well, there is a four-junior logjam at safety, Tranquill/Ginwright/Claiborne and Tanner. Anderson is good, maybe he was going to supplant him in the two-deep?

There's a bigger logjam at WR, the juniors there are Eskridge/Watson/Ricci/Curtis. Plus Sanders and Arnett, and Broersma, and if Bussell plays as a true freshman... Tanner is going to have be head and shoulders above one of those guys, unless we are losing one or two to transfers.

We have so few seniors!

It's got to be tough to be an underclassmen on this team, fighting for playing time. At least at the other positions there's mostly a natural progression to graduation.

Has Tranquill been granted medical RS yet? Ricci might be in line for one also, not sure how many games he played. Arnett is the sleeper he has talent, Eskridge needs to be better with the ball. Should be breakout year for Watson, he was slated to be Braverman's replacement in '16 but Henry and Thompson over took him.

Eskridge needs to be moved to more of a swing back/WR... he's a burner down field sure... but he's so small he needs excessive separation to even get his hands on the ball... and when he does he has trouble handling the ball...

Remember a few years back not Braverman's last year but the year prior... seemed like Terrell had an astronomical completion percentage because he was throwing flip passes behind the line to Braverman crossing the line... Seems like some thing we could do with Eskridge...

Eskridge was playing with a broken finger all year, so he gets a pass in my book.

I would totally use that play again, though, and he would be perfect for it. I was never sure why we went away from that play after only a year of it being the staple of our offense. We never even went back to it as a change of pace.

I would even use Bellamy for the Jet Sweep and still have the ability throw WR screen to Eskridge or a slant over the middle to Eskridge. That way you have Bogan/Tucker as a run threat, Bellamy as a threat on the Jet and still have you fastest WR as a threat.
