Yea, who called him Jiff first? Quite funny. I think it was right after someone called him Comphers.

Yes, good old Jiff Comphers certainly left his mark on NIU. Unfortunately, we have not been able to completely erase that mark.

Lehman was the heart and soul of the team Carlaen’s first 2 years. She is down to 9 players this year due to injury so the latter half of this year may get ugly.

Still bitter about STF and anytime his name is brought up. Venting.

Not sure I get saying a coach can't be evaluated just because they have a good/great player on their team? By that logic, we should only consider a coach good if they win without good players? Doesn't make sense...

My fault I presented it poorly. Simply put personally I’d have a hard time firing a coach for poor team performance, aside from blatant issues , until he or she has brought in their own recruiting classes. Other side of the coin I personally would reserve judgment on positive on court performance until he or she has her recruiting classes. I’m all for Carlsen being long term. Think she’s done a great job. I just want to see what she does with her own players.

Granted Lehman was a once in a decade type impact player. So far Poisson has been a great addition but this years freshman look overmatched for the most part. Player development is key and I’m sure the staff will get them headed in right direction. Injuries have thrust some kids into valuable playing time they weren’t expecting.

Sorry for the long winded version.

Ah, I gotcha. I understand that point of not fully evaluating a coach until they have the majority of their own recruited players.

Lisa has been here 2 1/2 years and is 6th on the NIU wins list. What does that say about NIU women's hoops.
It is like the White Sox home run record before the 90's. I believe it was under 200 for it's history.
