I survived the disappoint loss yesterday and another very cold day/night (but the temps start to turn around today and will continue throughout the week and maybe be spring like at the end of the week).

Big story out of the MAC is that it is a 'mess'. It was a 'mess' last year with only one team better than 11 - 7.

After two games, only TWO undefeated teams. Eight teams are 1 - 1 including some teams thought to be 'surprisingly' good, like BSU, CMU, etc. Both BSU and CMU got beaten handily yesterday. Maybe embarrassed is a better word. One trailed by 16 and the other 18 at halftime. BSU got beaten by UB, but CMU beaten badly by a mediocre Kent team.

UB has our coach. CMU may be looking for a coach after this season. Should be interesting to see if EMU can finish ahead of CMU and NIU (who might need a coach too).

Let's try to go 2-0 this week.....both teams are not very good and are beatable. If we look past them, we'll lose both games.i think after starting 0-2, hopefully the players have some urgency.

Good to see the return to reality.

While EMU struggles out of the gate, their 'misery loves company' partner, Oakland, is having the same problems. They are now 1 - 3 in the mighty Horizon.

MSU is getting thumped in Columbus. CMU got thumped yesterday.

We need a 'Michigan Hoops Misery Map" showing Ypsilanti, Detroit, Rochster, E. Lansing, Mt. Pleasant...

So true Steve, plenty of misery in the state right now. Still to save this season we need three wins in the next four plain and simple before we get killed by Buffalo in New York.

the first two games of the conf season have been horrible and Murphy is the same frustrating coach, but this team has some exciting and talented players. hopefully we win by 20 tomorrow, put together a nice little win streak, and delay the Murphy lamentations until the offseason. i'd love to just enjoy the season.

Unless WMU beats TOL, the MAC west is still wide open with a bunch of 2 -1 and 1 - 2 teams.

An EMU win and WMU loss would put us one game out in the MAC West, despite the frustrating start.

$3 beers throughout the game tonight. I don't know if that's a permanent thing, or just for tonight, but that's sweet. And, of course, you can take your beer to your seat now.

Even though I'm kinda down on EMU hoops right now I really, really, really want to see EMU beat the snot out of George's Chips.

Yes. I don't know what's with the team. It seems timid, unsure, etc. I think the refs get into their heads. I think they have JT4 totally confused as what to expect from them.

Sounds crazy but I think JT4 will like the NBA game more than college. The game officials have all but neutered him.

I don't know if they (game officials who work both B1G/MAC) think B1G basketball is big boy basketball and MAC hoops is momma's boy basketball?

Big story in the MAC is the parity.

UB is 3 - 0; Akron 0 - 3. Everyone else 2 - 1 or 1 - 2.

We're going to see a lot of 10 - 8, 9 - 9, 8 - 10 type records.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the West won with a 11 - 7 record.

BTW, for those who can't follow these (best is they were displayed horizontally, not vertically).

EMU open as a 5 point favorite and the line dropped to EMU by 4. All of the -4 are various casinos/sports books which accept wagers.

The numbers like 139 or 138 1/2 are the over/under line (total points).

In this case the "Over" was the win as the total score (both teams) was 153.
