Looked just like last years team. Jack up a bunch of threes and watch the other team score at will. Like I said in another post you can't consistently beat good teams with that kind of play.

Who was that forward from last year? Ryan Taylor? They miss him.

Couldn't get enough attention by commenting on other thread, so you started a new one? Someone needs attention.07-coffee3

No, I just didnt want to drag up that thread from last week where multiple Marshall fans went on and on about how good their defense was this year.

To be fair WKU has one of the best offenses in the country, we have made everyone look silly so far this season besides Villanova and Belmont who to us is the UCLA of the 70s...

Ok I'll bite, did you watch the game? We are short on Big men this year. This was supposed to be a rebuilding year, but we have played much better than expected. Yes we do play defense this year much better than last year, but we lost our #1 big man early in the game who is arguably our best player this year. He had 5 blocks in 4 minutes of play before hurting his ankle. Our other bigs are drastically inexperienced and that showed the first half. Played a little better the second half, but the game was out of hand by then.

WKU played a great game, but it would have been a much better game if Penava didn't get hurt. He probably won't be back for our game against MT, but he should be back for tourney play I hope.

A couple years of success and some have the big head thinking you are better than others. Maybe you are still upset from the beat down MU gave you on the football field. Whatever it is, I hope you aren't the catalyst for the MTSU fanbase as a whole.

After squeaking by FAU earlier today, I doubt they’ll be a lot of big talk from anyone wearing Raider blue. We will just take our win and run.

Not only did we lose Penava four minutes in eliminating our only rim protector and interior defender that we have but Watson one of our best if not our best perimeter defender was tagged with a couple of early fouls that left him on the bench most of the first half.

Lots of things happened to night that contributed to that game getting out of hand, from WKU being a really skilled offensive team to us racking up T's and getting totally taken out of the game mentally within the first 10 minutes. It just wasn't our night.

Usually you wouldn't expect the fans of the "best team in the conference" to be obsessed with the defensive capabilities of a team picked to finish middle of the pack. I guess certain Middle fans are just special.

We are last in the league in defense I think. That said, losing Peneva hurt badly and frankly, Western is darn good. Best team in the league at this point from what I have seen. We are still a year away from seriously challenging for the regular season crown. WKU, MT, UAB are clearly the top 3 teams. After that, it's a cluster.

RE: Marshall where was that awesome defense you guys were telling us about?
What makes us so hard to stop is that every player on the floor is a threat to score. Can't say I've seen very many teams where every player has to b respected for their offensive. Usually just 2 or 3 guys u have to worry about.
Darius Thompson is as cool as you will find as a point guard.
Never hurries never rushes anything. Sometime I expect to see him yawn as he's coming down the court. The rest of the league will soon see just how good he is. God how I wish he had another year.

Plus it doesn't hurt that we're pretty good on the defensive end either. Also with Josh Anderson now eligible we'll b that much better and we still have a 6'9" big man waiting in the wings to b declared eligible by everyone's friend the ncaa. From what I understand he may b our best rim protector.

U guys have had our number for a while i'll admit but look at the series overall record and you'll see u have been our whipping post longer than we've been yours. Enjoy it while it lasts because the tide may b about to turn. CUSA needs us both to b good along with UAB and ODU.

Looking forward to playing u guys but we have to get past ODU this week first and that won't b easy.
