Honestly I want it more for that, than to support my team.

I was a little worried that UCF proclaiming themselves Natty Champs would lead to mockery in the press, but so far, they seem to like it.

Why? I have SEC fans on my Facebook saying that UCF should have been in the playoffs for being undefeated. Plus having the distinction of beating the team that beat two #1 teams during the season who happen to be playing in the Football Invitational Championship helps the claim as well.

“Being able to know what has to be done to be a perfect team, to be conference champions, to be Peach Bowl champions, knowing each and every thing that has to be done — because we did it already [we’re] taking that from this year and establishing that in the next group of players as well,” said Trysten Hill, a sophomore starting nose guard.

“It’s something that not only our program appreciates but all other small schools as well. Being able to have the Power 5, the Group of 5, all that talk … it’s not working. It’s nonsense,” Hill said after UCF beat Auburn. “There’s so many good recruits going everywhere in the country. Not everybody is going to Power 5 schools anymore. We’re talking for the Western Michigans, for the Memphises, for UCF, for the small schools that know they don’t get that shot. [We’re doing it] for Troy. For teams like that. This is a staple win for all of us.”
