In the final 3 games 87,000 fans have shown up to watch NMSU... that’s 29,000 per game!

Yeah they did a good job marketing it to their folks. When tickets were first being sold it was like 6,000 NMSU, 200 USU or something like that. They are definitely feeling it in Las Cruces.

NMSU needs to join the MWC... they get excited for teams like Utah State and come out in droves for a western bowl game.

I agree, that would give them a solid 12th team in their ranks. (Hawai'i is a Football only school I think)

Damn reading through all these posts makes me glad that for bowl games the entire conference can support teams they were rooting against earlier on. It was a hard fought game but an overtime win is the perfect way to end a historic season.

Benson hates us, and the eastern schools don't like us because of the distance. We weren't good at football until this season. Most of the western schools wanted us to stay or were at least chill with us.

IMO, y'all should have been given full membership. . . . It's a lousy deal that you were given.

Don't know how long the Indy thing will work for you, but I hope that you give 'em hell, and wind up in another conference. Best of luck Aggies!

I know my school's leadership was against this, but I personally agree. I'm not a shooty hoops guy but that alone makes sense to me. Fortunately, many of us, including my school, have scheduled NMSU in football.

Congrats Aggies! I am a ULM guy and didn’t mind NMSU staying for football.
Would people rather keep NMSU and not brought in CCU? That’s basiclly your choice. If NMSU stayed then we had to keep Idaho or add another football team. It sucks but that’s the reality. I think NMSU deserves a home and geographically MWC is best fit. I don’t know your relationship with UNM but I doubt they want you in MWC. I get Idaho not being part of the SBC but NMSU claim was a lot more realistic.
