Opening weekend of conference play: 12/29 and 12/31

I like Arkansas State's team. Their four guard offense is going to cause some issues. On the downside, Tomas Bruce is the only inside player stAte has. That's an issue for them.

Lindsey, as always, owned the Cajuns.

I hate their uniforms. I know Balado came from Louisville, but those unis are a clown show. Sorry.

Everything you’ve said here is on point.

Once we ran off a Brady problem child and admitted to ourselves that we're not capable of being a great defensive team as constructed, so we might as well put our 5 best scorers on the floor and go with it, we've gotten a lot better. We're still woefully short on depth, especially inside. But we have the guard play to hang with anyone in this league. As long as our opponent isn't crazy big on the inside, we have the ability to hang around and perhaps win late against teams. But its going to take 80 points a game to do it.

Difference in the game is a 5 minute stretch to end each half. End of the first half both Washington and Gant are on the bench with fouls, but Bruce and Walley pick up critical 2nd fouls, forcing us to play Jake Scoggins at the 5. A Brady Signee who frankly needs to transfer to a D2. He's just not capable of competing at this level. Cajuns were able to battle back from there to tie it at half

Second half we were doing great to stay in the game, but after a 3 at the shot clock buzzer off a loose ball for the Cajuns broke a tie, we ran down and took an ill advised shot immediately. Had to foul to stop the resulting fast break off the rebound. 2 free throws later its 5. A Steal and basket after that its 7 and suddenly the game is essentially out of reach given how well the Cajuns shoot free throws.

Looking over box scores I think you have it backwards.

All these posts are correct. When we hit 7 behind I said ballgame. We really stayed with them better than I thought we would. Like our football team our power game is lacking. Some of our fans were having fit with Balado when we started the year. It seems to me he might be able to coach.

If we lose three conference games in a row, I'll be officially concerned with our team and emailing Scott Cross.

Side note, one of your assistant coaches acts like a clown on the sideline. Yelling during every free throw when our guys are in shooting motion, trash talking players, etc.

You're right. The triple by Stove was THE shot of the game.

We're very different at the point this year. Jay Wright was really good. But Stroman takes this team to another level. 14 points, ten assists and eight boards. He usually doesn't score that much, but we had 22 assists on 31 makes.

Sorry you didn't get to see more of Gant. He's crazy athletic.

Yes, because I'm sure emailing the coach will do something about it.

I mean...does the coach even check his school email? Ours obviously don't as they are still coaching here.

They’ve got one assistant that I swear believes he’s the head coach. Two years ago in Boone it looked like he told Cross to sit down and he took over.
