Or maybe from year to year you don't know if William & Mary will have an RPI of 64 or 300?
Or maybe during the season William & Mary's RPI slips after they enter conference play.

William and Mary is a decent program most years. Maybe we wind up with a down year, but i can live with the effort. We know where the swac teams are going to be at the end of the year.

I don't think anyone has said they are happy with the OOC schedule this season. Talking to the AD and coach they are not as well. I'll leave it at that. They don't bite.

You guys have all told us our AD is an incompetent fool. Why would i want to talk to him?

Coach should’ve done a better job.

I don’t care if they are happy or not, they created it. And if it is truly because they can’t get any team to play us, they need to release that info to us.

I didn't take that statement like that myself. I too think they should let it be known.

I can't afford the access that you have to our AD and coaches. I'm just an upper level peon that can barely afford the season tickets and can't afford donation levels.

By the time Saturday comes around we'll have been 21 days between basketball games. There may have been some exhibitions in there, but that is long time to go between challenges. I expect a spanking Saturday by a much more tested team. The biggest issue I have with this schedule is we haven't been tested enough to learn how to play against top 100 teams.

I do appreciate your insight into this conversation. The coach and AD shouldn't be happy, but this is our place to vent to each other about being less than satisfied in the product in Bartow.

RE: Power 5 teams that have played in Bartow Arena
While I know others will disagree, I think for the right opponent it is reasonable to do a 2 for 1 or 3 for 1. Not for just any Power 5 school of course. But in most cases I think it is worth it because at our current standing, we aren't going to get many 1 for 1s regardless of whether we think we deserve it or not. What's more, I'd rather play a good Power 5 team on the road or neutral court than to play bad teams at home who do nothing but pull the RPI down and do nothing to challenge or prepare us for the conference schedule.

That shouldn't stop you from acting like it. Hell, it's the internet. Pretty sure that's what all the "in the know" folks around here do...

I completely agree. Many here have too high of an opinion of our current standing in the basketball world. We need to do what we have to ensure an appropriately challenging and higher ranked schedule.

I don't buy the line the coach and and AD aren't happy. Perhaps they're not but they created this crap schedule, as others have pointed out.

I agree the HC and AD need their feet HELD TO THE FIRE with regards to scheduling...maybe they like feasting on cupcakes or maybe they just can't close the deals...either way the bucks stops with Ehsan and Ingram

I agree as well. Don’t agree for a 3 for 1 with Rutgers, but if a program like Tennessee offers a 2 for 1, take it.

I think what i was getting at was lost in translation here.

What I’m saying is if every sec team(outside of auburn), every big ten, every big xii, every pac 12, every acc, every big east, every a10, every aac(outside of Memphis), every mac, every Missouri valley, every decent sun belt, colonial, etc. have shot us down, let us know that. Show us all these declanations, and ask the selection committee what we can do if nobody will play us.

I buy that it is difficult to schedule, especially since we went from a top 75ish program to a top 150ish in recent years, but i don’t believe no teams out there except the swac will play us for the most part.

Not even sure if it a top 150ish program at the moment.

I think we are a top 150 program, just may not be a top 150 team at the moment. Program rank looks at more than current performance.
