Game Day: @Syracuse
Little over an hour to go before game time.

Still 'Cuse by 13 with the Ov/Un at 136. Doing a little middle school math, they have EMU scoring about 61 or 62 points and 'Cuse around 75.

I know we've laid some real eggs versus 'Cuse but I hope we can score a lot more than 62 points. This is hardly the best 'Cuse team we've faced.

This game could be fascinating. Syracuse is a team with three stars (Howard, Brissett, and Battle) and a bunch of role players.

I believe Howard is their PG and he is a tall one. I believe their PF is Brissett, a very, very talented FRESHMAN player (16/10) who should match up with Minnie. And Battle another tall guard.

Syracuse has a lot of size at center but it is kind of 'center by committee.' Neither center is dominant despite good size. JT4 will be giving away 4 inches to Chukwu. That might be fun to watch those two.

I believe Chad had said that 'Cuse is the tallest team in the nation and EMU, second...

RE: Game Day: @Syracuse
The key to the game could be the last (right most) column for the 'Cuse stats.

They shoot 30% behind the arc. EMU, OTOH, shoots... 34%.

We shouldn't be facing a team which will make a 12 - 15 treys.

Hopefully we keep the game within 10 points like the other MAC schools.

I like SU shooting the 3. They're not good at it. Play hard and shoot well and EMU can be in this. Gotta have fair refs too.

Proven we can hang with this team. Now let's get some consistency on the offensive possessions and build that lead.

Keeping it close while all the freshmen are in is good enough. Buy some time.

8 fouls for EMU. 2 for SU. Won't win with that.

Tied at half. Their length is really bothering us, we are doing great on the glass. We keep up the defensive effort, and this will be a close game. However, we have to find some offense. Hoping we get more penetration in the 2nd half. We are moving the ball well, but need to get more shots up.

Yeah, putting James on the bench for the last 5ish minutes and still going into the tunnel tied up is huge. Thompson will play the entire 2nd half, if he can avoid picking up 2 fouls early.

Great replay on ESPN2 showing the clock at 0 and the ball still in the shooter's hand.

Really thought it would go the other way.

Yep. It is hard to underestimate the importance of JT4 not only on defense but offense.

The offense looks entirely lost without him. They depend on him to create his own offense, force double teams, etc.

W/out him it is 4 against 5 on offense.

BTW, watching the EMU zone defense, now we know why UofM doesn't want to play us.

Our zone can make another team's offense look ugly and disjointed esp. if the team is inexperienced and has a lot of newcomers.

Belein is an a$$hole. I hope they lose every game. He's a coward.
