His younger brother has multiple offers including Chips and Broncos.
He wasn’t going to start. Two starters returned in Stanezek and Ostman, as well as their #1 backup Brisson-Fast.
Why would they remove his scholarship instead of just getting a medical redshirt. My BS detector is on.
As usual your BS detector is broken.

A grey shirt is code for, “We’re not wasting a scholarship on you from this small class.” The BS is that he was going to start as a true freshmen.

I think I’m stating the obvious here but just for clarification purposes, the “OK” in OK Conference stands for Ottawa-Kent (counties). It was broken up 10-15 years ago into Red, Metro, Lakeshore, etc. and then the conference redistributed teams again a few years ago into what it is today.
Zeeland is located in Ottawa County and in the Green Division. Even with all the changes over the years, the OK Red is still by far the superior conference in football, but also most sports (Rockford, Grandville, West Ottawa, East Kentwood, etc.)

Zeeland East year in year out is grossly overrated. Lost in the 2016 playoffs (Berghorsts year) 45-6 to Byron Center. Vandort came to Western as a 3 Star can’t miss stud. Didn’t last 2 weeks of camp, went to Hope, and even there was meh.....

Glad this young man will see the field.
"Berghorst was a two-time all-state defensive lineman at Zeeland East. He also won the state championship in the shot put and was all-state in discus. He accomplished the track & field feats while splitting time between the sport and baseball."

VanDort went to Zeeland West. He was a big fish in a small pond.

I see "Players leaving in droves, it's worse than I thought" w/o any reference to CMU and I start preparing to jump off a bridge.
Ha, I had the exact same knee jerk reaction. Whew.
I just figured Dip was referring to Minnesota so I wasn't worried - but yes, put CMU in the title please.

No idiots, I’m not posting any new information. It was right there on your site. I just confirmed it by comparing your current roster with your 2017 recruiting class. It’s that simple. As for focusing on ourselves, we return a ton of starters, and have more depth than any team in the MAC. You lose everybody that’s any good, your Oline will be awful, and you lack depth. Manute Bol isn’t going to cut it at QB.
What bugs you is you can’t control these posts. Can’t delete, can’t ban. Yet clearly your read every word I write.

Jonathan Berghorst- 6’3” 245 Three Star DE from Zeeland. Something about these Zeeland guys. They think they’re still studs in the OK Red, and when the see competition they flee.
Bernard Rainmen- 6’7” TE from Delton Kellogg. Delton Kellogg (a suburb of Kalamazoo), is a bad program. Fleck didn’t even offer and the kid was next door.
Steve Spenner- 6’3” S from Berrien Springs, another school that’s spitting distance from Western, and we never offered.
Evan Plate- 6’3” LB from Greenville. I’m guessing Bono brought him in because he and Coussou are both from Greenville. “If you come I’ll bring you buddy,” or maybe he wanted one stop shopping.
Sean Wiley DT Jacksonville, FL. Bono likes to toot his Jacksonville FL, connection. It’s always his end of the recruiting cycle last ditch effort. None of them have stuck around. I think it’s Bono’s way to get a FL vacation for him and the wife.
Willie Reid- S Cass Tech. Bono buys into the myth that every player on Cass Tech is a D1 player and they have brains. See Jurue Campbell.
Ty Henderson- WR Dublin OH
Elijah James- DE Opted for community college.
Of the 25 in Bono’s first true recruiting class 8 left. This class was rated
#5 in the MAC, but likely was 10 or 11.
Nice guy, can’t recruit.

Dip does that as a teaser to get you to open his thread. If he put CMU in the title, 50% would pass up on reading that thread. It's an old journalists trick.

Sure I read it, never denied otherwise. The slappies on the other hand like to claim they ignored me when I posted there, which they didn’t. They still don’t ignore, as evidenced by several of you whining about this thread on Slappy Illy, and coming here to defend your beloved Bono. #CantRecruit
