Get yourself a more tolerable family. Just kidding, but the temptation got to me.

I think my family would prefer to make me more tolerable, but hey.

It's not that I don't appreciate the holiday, but I've got some family members who are really gung ho about some of the traditions. I'd rather do Christmas Eve church, open presents the next day, eat lunch and go home. But my family is one of those stay for 4-5 days type groups, full experience the works. It leads to both sides driving the other crazy.

It's gotten where I've had to intentionally ask work to schedule me to work as soon after Christmas as possible, so I'll have an excuse to get out of the extravaganza after 36 hours. Thankfully the number of people I work with who line up to work the week between Christmas and New Years (Which is optional for all) is very few, so work is quick to cooperate and schedule me as soon as the Holiday is over.
