RE: Power rankings
APP fans...I'll gladly admit I was wrong, and it looks like getting healthy was the key factor. Congrats on a great performance and a great season. I'm not sure we'd beat you guys right now, and but its clear that Troy and APP are the best teams this year. With what we have to replace, I'd certainly give you guys the edge in Boone next season.

1. APP / TROY
3. Arkansas State / Georgia State

Not sure it matters that much now. I give Troy the edge, but App validated their conference championship with the bowl performance and cut off any talk of asterisks at the knees.

What started out as a weak looking conference ended up pretty decent due to Troy/App/GaSt. Salute.

They have as much if not more to replace than we do.

With a healthy Troy I’d still like our odds against App.

If App, Troy, and stAte remains competitive...GSU and ULM continues to improve....GS, UL, and USA returns to respectability....the SunBelt will be a heck of a conference next year.

I don't see any of those three dropping off, and GSU has had a heck of a year in Elliot's first year. The coaching hires have been key, and I think this will be the next step in the evolution of the SBC conference. Good things lie ahead.

I might be a little biased (by might be I mean I definitely am) but I think you'll see significant improvement in Coastal next year with our head coach back and an FBS capable QB.

We really were right in almost every game we played this year. It won't take much improvement for us to win 3 or 4 more games.

We have some really good young coaches in this league. The key will be hanging on to Brown, Elliott, Satterfield, Chadwell, Anderson, and Withers as long as possible.

Do that and we'll all continue to improve.

I think Withers is a failed project. Chadwell will not be CCU's head coach, it will be Moglia. Elliot, Campbell, and Viator seem like the real deal.

Hard to believe that we were still missing 3 starters (2 Sr.) on defense last night. Like Troy's win over NT that makes the win even more impressive.

If our teams played I would expect another close battle like the past two years.

This season was rough but I think Withers has made improvements at TSU. The west right now is stAte and everybody else. Rivals has them with the 2nd best class in the conference. I don't know what it will take to get them winning but Withers is a proven winner. If he can't get it done there nobody can.

When did Texas Southern hire Withers away?

I wish Mohajir would really have a talk about where he needs to improve. Stupid penalties, lousy clock management, his idea that we never have a target on our back. To many close loses in games we should won. I guess it's details details details. He did some good things with Hansen(still some growth needed three). Our offense was better than last year. Hopefully he will improve because he isn't going anywhere.

I disagree. I think ULM will give stAte all they can handle in the West next year.

If you get a defense and keep the offense you used against us this year I agree.

My point was there hasn't been a legitimate challenger to stAte on that side since Louisiana went under sanctions. SBC west is like the SEC east in that way.
