Honestly had the same thought.

Toledo rarely gets beat badly in bowl games. They usually fare well against non-conference competition. When is the last time they got shut out!? Weird.

There were lots of recruiting trips, MACC stuff, Bowl lunches, press stuff, etc. The coaching search is overblown, unless they know they're leaving(ie:Matt Campbell). A lot of stuff is handled by agents. I talked to 3 guys that were media list finalist for a HC'ing job. Each one said, they or their agent(s) were never even contacted(hiring was in house).

Seemed like team's goal this year was the MACC. Once the Rockets got off the schneid, focus was lost.

Hard to do when you lose your top 3 OG's. The passing game works off the run game.
Not one of Toledo's better lines inside the Tackles. Redshirted 4 Freshmen OL.

Nate Jeppesen (Portage) played center against us this year. He's traditionally lined up at guard, from what I remember. They weren't really decimated by injury per se, but Appalachian State exposed that weakness.

Woodside had problems with bad snaps all year. Toledo tried a couple players at Center. At 6'3" 283 lbs, Jeppesen was really too small at OG. After Greg Mancz and Ruben Carter at Center, it's been an issue. Coach Candle has done a good job addressing the OL issues in the last two classes. Probably will add one more.
