I have been chairs where the arm rests fall off.
They need an upgrade.

Around us, some of the arm rests are actually missing.

Since those season tickets holders bailed, and it appears no one purchased the seats, I guess it doesn't matter.

Same by where we sit. A couple weeks ago, my wife grabbed the seat arm as she was getting up and it came right off. Someone who really needs the arm to stand up could be injured. We may need a table of lawyers handing out their cards.

I feel bad about this. This is a good opportunity for some corporation to get their name out and support the school. Since it looks like there may be little to no competition, it could be a good deal.

??? athletic administration is a gong show. The weather may have had an impact on not a single investor or business showing? For love of God STF just stop with your windbag.

I am not surprised by the no shows at the open house. Those interested in talking about bidding are not going to an open house. They are going to communicate and meet in a private business setting. Nothing to see here and I applaud the athletic dept for giving this a shot.

Weather - 20 and flurries kept them away.
I guess the bidders were NIU students.

huskie1stdown: Good for a chuckle

ChicagoHuskie: Agree that anyone interested in bidding would neither attend or want to make public their bid, let alone their interest. However, then saying "I applaud the athletic dept for giving this a shot" is illogical. You even said you weren't surprised by the no shows, then why even bother doing it because the no shows make it look like nobody is interested.

IF someone wanting to make a bid called and asked for a private tour would the athletic dept say "No"?

Besides, we'd like to think anyone locally interested would already be familiar with the inside, just like DogFan said back in post #71. "I'd give a couple thousand if I could get a urinal or bathroom stall named after me, complete with lights and a plaque."
Not sure how much DogFan is willing to put up, but perhaps a trickle can start an overflow.......exactly how many stalls are there between all the men's and women's rooms?

The prior article mentioned how most schools typically don’t even issue an RFP for something like this. Since this is Illinois it would not shock me if there is a bunch of red tape with the state that needs to be cut through to make this happen.

No doubt there is red tape that has to be cut through to make this happen.
However, how old is the Convo? Imagine if the administration would have begun the process after we actually started using the place?

This would be chump change for Lagunitas. During concerts would be a good way to introduce the beer to many and market to an even broader crowd.

Lagunitas is a non-starter...so is the Grotto

Yes. Making it bigger makes absolutely no sense when we can barely fill half the stadium now.

That is why, even though it would look better, I am against building the South bowl for Huskie Stadium for now. It is a waste of 10mil at this current time that could be better used towards the other athletic projects.

Building the East side premium structure is still absolutely needed. That would not be much of a change in total seating capacity from what we have now.

I think the East side high level donors surrounded by the students in the regular bleachers would be an amazing looking atmosphere on TV which would help get more people out to the games.

While it may look good for TV, I don't think the "high level donors" would want to be anywhere near the students.

The only issue I have on the student side as a donor is the damn sun. If games return back to Saturdays and start at 3pm...that 5pm sun SUCKS!

True. The sun is a big problem - when we play day games and there is sun. Both have been sort of rare in recent years.

I prefer the west side and will always sit there - no matter what they put there. I have never sat on the east side. I have been on the west side since way before there was an east side, and I will always be there. West is best (for me, at least)!

Fill the endzone with a scoreboard like Iowa State and it will make the stadium have that bowl feel.

I did mean the one that spreads across the endzone. Was a couple mil I feel I remember right.
