Gophers are lucky to be in the West Division.

Dude gets one 9 or 10 win season and plays in the big 10 title game and he’ll get snatched by one of the upper tier P5 programs

Only two four star players. Not going very far with that.

They lost 3 games by a touchdown or less. It could mean the difference between 5 wins and 8 wins.

Minnesota sucks. They also got whooped and SHUT OUT in their last two games. I can't believe Minnesota bought into all his philosophical BS.

I was probably in the same frame of mind as you until I watched the ESPN story line on him "Being PJ Fleck". The guy is not a phony. Pretty down to earth with a lot of passion. I think he'd be a helluva friend to have. It also re-emphasized for me a tendency I (along with most people) have of forming opinions based on perceptions - generally from the lack of having any other point of reference about someone.

But it's still only the 6th best in the big ten, with several teams that could pass them as the recruiting season goes on. He's recruiting well for Minnesota standards but is getting crushed by the big teams.

I agree with this. "Being PJ Fleck" honestly really made me like the guy. Dude has insane amounts of energy too. Can't believe he didn't get a little farther along in his playing days with a motor like that.

RE: P J Fleck Just..........
Forever grateful he brought us the NY6 bowl and Top 15 ranking, and what could be a once-in-a-lifetime season.

But Fleck trying to recruit several active Bronco players after leaving put a bad taste in a lot of fans' mouths, of which he got a minor NCAA violation over.

I think part of our problems this past season (in addition to injuries) was the major culture change from Fleck to Lester, and some upperclassmen who couldn't, or wouldn't, adjust. Fleck's "hey, come to the B1G with me... wait never mind, they caught on" probably didn't help.

Again, he's a helluva recruiter and motivator. And as a father myself, anyone who's had a baby die in their arms gets utmost sympathy from me. However his over-the-top salesman approach, coupled with strings of acronyms and slogans, wears thin after awhile. Not to mention skepticism of the sincerity behind it all.
