I would imagine he eventually ends up on the OL.

I don't know...he reminds me quite a bit of Margus Hunt when he was at SMU. I could easily see him being a project DE. That kind of athleticism and size is exceptionally rare, and would make him a bear to deal with as a rush end with that kind of arm length.

No doubt. Margus Hunt was the first thing I thought of well when I saw his video. His length would create so much havoc on the pass rush.. QB sacks, pass deflections, just making it tough for the QB to see down all the options he has. Not to go over my skis, but really has the potential of having a Connor Barwin type influence (read: He will also play on punt return with that length so that he can block punts).

Any other big-time Bearcat targets making a decision today?

I'm fairly certain Harris is the only non-commit target that we're heavily going after who is signing today. Patiently waiting until then...

Looks like Colin Woodside and Yanez Rogers are the only Eastern Time Zone commits who have not yet signed. One is very surprising, the other not so much.

The video we saw the guy is really fast and is very athletic. Georgia Tech offered him last week.

A guy that size, I think you take a flyer on anyways. It's not like they just looked at his stats and said they wanted him. They liked what they saw on tape.

Hopefully you're right. If the GT offer from last week is legit that gives me some hope. They landed a highly rated German kid in this class already.

The official GT offer verified on his twitter feed on 12/11 where he was thanking them. Word was he is timed sub 5.0 in the 40. Guy that size, that is nuts.

The kid GT already landed flipped and signed with Michigan this morning

Seriously though...look at what could be the DL rotation in 3 years...

WDE: Becevich and Metz
DT: Vann, Taylor, and (potentially) Hutch
SDE: Martin and Pitts

DL is going to be a strength here in a few years...mainly because a lot of these guys are probably going to get into the rotation quickly.

RE: Signing Day
Vernon Dasher signed with Ole Miss. He was a juco LB target that took an official here - not sure if he was a take once Manac committed.

I think they were both takes because Dasher was an OLB while Manac will play DL. That would've been a VERY solid signing had we gotten him...he was a very good player who would've immediately slotted into the LB rotation.

with this being a new process this year. Are we surprised 16/23 has signed early? Or was this expected?

I tell you what...he may be a project on the field, but Metz already has an NFL level signature (bottom right of the .gif) 03-lmfao

I don't think anyone really knew how many would sign (Nationally...I think everyone who has signed made their intentions known outside of Metz and POTENTIALLY Harris)...I'm thrilled with the amount that we have at the moment. The only outstanding signatures right now are below:

Yanez Rogers
Alec Pierce
Chauncey Manac

I don't know if Rath's 23 includes the PWOs, but we're 16/19 for signatures of commits on full offers.

This will probably end up being a lot like college basketball, where the vast majority of the middle to above average guys (2* to lower 4*) signs on the ESD, but the higher level prospect still negotiating their contracts and the students who need to work on passing through the Clearinghouse are left for the February signing day.

Is this Bryant kid good enough to start as a frosh or do we redshirt him and Juco a QB. Or...gulp...do we stick with Moore?

I think it's pretty unlikely that he starts as a true freshman, but the staff is really high on him, so there's a chance.

I don't see any way we can stick with Moore. He is a turnover machine and not nearly good enough for this level. Hopefully we get a grad transfer that can take over at QB for a year or two before Bryant takes the reigns.

Aren't there different rules for JUCOs where they really don't have to sign a letter of intent - just the financing documentation? Is Manac expected to sign today or will he have to wait until he has completed his degree? I am asking because I honestly have no clue.

So down to 2 left. That was a lot more than I was expecting. I thought we would only get about 10 or 12 today. Now I would like to see the last 2 locked up today and we can look at getting the last spots filled. Now can kids just sign today or in February or can they sign from now until February.
