Yes, so terrible that a player might sign with a smaller program he's built a rapport with over the course of a year+ instead of going at the last minute with a bigger program who finally got around to seeing their Sr. season film, re-evaluated them and offered what ends up being the chance to get buried on the roster.

That Saban, real player-first humanitarian.

Kids shouldn't sign until Alabama says no I guess.

He and Urban Cryer are psychotic misfits of society. But they are perfect for their schools. They think nothing but football, winning, national championship as a job, expectation. They are relentless. I really don't think they enjoy what they do, especially Saban. It's just what they know. He talks himself into it, how he doesn't have time to enjoy it, is on recruiting path day after bowl. That's great, he gets the rewards, all five star players. But I hardly think it's all him rather a system, surrounding cast and reputation for producing pro talent. He just thinks he should never lose a player, that anything P5 and moreover SEC is not on his level. I enjoy watching him lose, even though it doesn't occur often.

NIU needs help on offense. How many stud QBs were signed? RBs?

Toledo coach Jason Candle starts his new contract off with a bang! Four-star QB Carter Bradley (No. 267 in ESPN 300; Jacksonville, Fla./Providence School) signs with @ToledoFB

No doubt ours is a great class. I'm still waiting for Northern to recruit a player of this caliber though
The 4-star signings that WMU and Toledo got are really the only thing that makes their recruiting classes better than ours. Hopefully they turn out as busts so NIU can return to Detroit and win the MAC.

According to 247 the QB Toledo reeled in is high 3 and WMU’s class was ahead of the MAC before their own 4 star get...

Personally I could give a $h1t at this point if our coach can’t get these guys prepared to win games! Great day for the MAC West regardless!

That's because it makes his job harder and benefits schools like NIU a lot. The big schools can just back fill if they have a recruit that flips. Hard for them to use the line that they really want them but just don't have a spot for them. If one "opens" up they would get an offer. That happens all the time with the big schools and to me that is not in the athletes best interest.

I think you are going to see smaller schools with higher ranked/better classes from here on out because their best recruits won't get poached last minute like we've had the last few years. Nixon last year, Ingold another.

What a great day for the Huskies. I thought Hall was not going to sign early and he did; what a pleasant surprise that was! Robinson is in; I was concerned about him, since he had so many P5 offers.

Saban and the others can go %&#$ in their hats! One wonders if Saban and the others will try to do away with early signing if they think they lost recruits they could have poached?

My thoughts as well. If it isn't good for the P5 it will go away. My guess is the immediate transfer rule will come in soon. That way P5 can take best players and they can play immediately. I can't see Sabah and the rest being satisfied with their recruit classes if they can steal away a few more scout team players from the G5.

I don’t think it will affect us either way. We didn’t sign any 5 or 4 star rated players.

OL Julian Pearl decommitted months ago and signed with Illinois today

DE Jack Sullivan decommitted months ago and signed with Purdue today

ATH Legend Moore decommitted recently although it sounds like it was mutual.

What do you mean by sounding mutual? We could have pulled the scholarship? Any further information on that?

It will be interesting on how Pearl & Sullivan turn out.
I would hope Parker gains weight and makes a nice bookend with Sutton Smith in 2 years.

Would have loved to have kept all these guys, but NIU still has a great recruiting class without them.
