RE: SBC - Bowl Viewership
Pretty good.

Last season, Troy vs. Ohio had 2.51-million viewers, which was the 2nd highest viewed bowl game featuring a G5 team. The 1st highest viewed game featuring a G5 team was Houston vs. San Diego State.

But wait... Troy's not in a market... how can this be...

Those numbers don't really tell the whole story. Troy was always going to have the highest ratings because they had the one game that didn't kick off directly opposite an NFL game.

AState/MTSU pulled 1.18 million despite going up against Chiefs/Chargers in a virtual playoff elimination game. Felt we did well, though I'm kind of depressed to know people watched and saw how bad we were.

Sure. I think it's more than any of our ESPN2 regular season games. 1.3 million may not be the 27 million the NCG game gets, but it's decent chunk for where we are as a program. Played extremely well on TV in front of mil+ viewers.

Bowl games always produce like 5 times the TV ratings of our regular season ESPN games.

Highest rated Regular Season SBC game this year was AState/GS. Even then, 3 times as many watched AState/Middle

Couldn't find any Cure Bowl numbers besides that it was outside the Top 25 watched events for the weekend, and that meant there was less than 639,000 viewers.

Was not saying wha I said for a pissing match. Just saying that any publicity you get from any bowl at our level will be three, four, ten times what you get in the regular season. CSE has been on just about every sports radio show in town this week. And we maid the CBS Radio Sports Minute which is who knows how many people nationally.

Some see these early December bowls as meaningless but for the schools they are invaluable.

Plus cbs sports network is either something most have or don’t. The network falls in the latter still though. Proud my panthers got to the cure bowl and won it. Plus people in this state are actually talkin up GaSt instead of oh that team. Winning.

I know in 2015 there was no rating published. But any rate the publicity from this week has been awesome.

correct. you need sports extra package for CSS Sports Network..so that might affect the viewership numbers. Personally, I quite enjoyed the CBS broadcast. The 4 sports guys in New York discussed exclusively about Georgia State and WKU during pregame, halftime, and postgame shows. NFL quality coverage. loved it. I wish we go to the Cure Bowl every year.

I was asking to see if anyone had seen any numbers. Nothing more than that. Obviously, whatever the number, it was going to be more than sitting at home and not playing.

I watched the rebroadcast on YouTube and and it was shockingly good. Much better than what we have been accustomed to on ESPN3

Also the Cure wasnt rated last year, even with it essentially being a home game for UCF....
