1). Apparently he was hurt when at the Alabama camp.

2). He is not tall and not big, either for a DE, 6'1" 230. But the lesson is that lack of size can be a detriment yet coaching staffs have to guess which ones can make it despite their lack of size or project to a different position.

I wonder if a lot of coaches missed out on Rush, who is short, 6' 1", for a DE, but looks like a player to me. As we sometimes hear with running backs, "He's not small, just short." 6' 1", 260 isn't small. I suspect if he was a few inches taller he'd had a lot of P5 offers.

NIU roster says Smith 6' 225. Almost guaranteed he's closer to 215-220. Looks tiny out there against Duke. Duke running right at him and he's a non-factor. EMU should do the same.

NIU showing again just how weak the MAC is. We find a QB, no reason we can't win this weak league. NIU QB is just terrible. Buffalo and Ohio the only teams with decent QB's.

1-4 again this bowl season so far, with OHio the only winner..........against a team that didn't even have a football program a year ago.

What I think happened (is happening):

1). It does appear that as 'Nickle posted, that two JUCO DEs, Rush and Simeon, were two DEs who visited the last weekend of officials visits that EMU really liked.

2). Gaddie apparently was unwilling to commit and EMU decided to give his offer to one of these.

3). Gaddie has official de-committed.

4). I assume we have two players in school who will sign after spring semester is over. If they were non-qualifiers they can not sign until they meet the NCAA requirements.

5). CC indicated he expects to sign 3 or 4 more in Feb.

6). The biggest puzzle to me is Whitmer. Best I can tell he is a mid-year JUCO grad. He had committed to EMU but did not sign ANYWHERE. There might be a reason why he is not starting school in January but obviously we don't know what it might be.
