Eagle Scout Congratulations Letter
My son just obtained his Eagle Rank on the 4th of December.

Any good people/organizations to obtain Eagle Congratulations Letters from?

I have Walt Disney, President, our two US Senators, the Pope, our local Bishop, Stephen Hawking and Brian May (both Astrophysicists), my Governor, GM, Ford, Sec. of Defense, Edu, DOJ, etc., American Legion, the top universities with astrophysics degrees (he wants to be an astrophysicist). The White Sox, Blackhawks, Bears, Cubs. Who else?

I am asking to have a flag flown over the Pentagon in his honor since his project was about the proper retiring of the US Flag and the flag retirement ceremony with the American Legion.

Once you get congratulations from the guitarist from Queen, its all anticlimatic after that.

And congrats!

In all sincerity, I have to ask: Does the Pope really send out congratulation letters to Eagle Scouts?

You could also find out if there are any local military units assigned overseas and have them send a letter and a flag. Also, you can have your Congresscritter fly a flag over the Capital on his behalf. Your State Reps and State Senator would do something as well, maybe even a meet and greet. Get something from the Mayor too....

What does he do with all this letter swag?

That is a great catch! My son knew him as the guy from the New Horizon's 3D photos of Pluto. He freaked out when I said you have been listening to him play guitar all the times I had cranked up my Queen CD's! 03-lmfao

Some of the letters are read at this Court of Honor. Then they go into his Eagle Project book to remind him later in life of who thought this was a big deal.

Also, I have the letter from Mike Rowe ready to roll.

NASA has a plug and chug PDF to give him.

In that vein, Thomas Rolland Norris is the only living Eagle Scout, Medal of Honor winner. The movie BAT 21 with Gene Hackman recounts his MOH mission to rescue a downed pilot in Vietnam.

That would be a good one.

Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs fame would be as well IMO

I have the Mike Rowe fill it in PDF letter.

I found some new names on that list to track down addresses.

Keep them coming!

BTW, congrats to your son. One of my big regrets was life getting in the way and dropping out of Scouts. I worked on three different Eagle Scout projects for others in my troop before the farm, baseball, and football got in the way and I bowed out. I saw the hard work, dedication and discipline involved in earning that honor and whenever I saw someone with it listed on an application they got extra consideration from me, and when I finally got to pick my own crew with the fire dept both of my backseaters were Eagle Scouts.

Congrats man. Never met a eagle scout that I didn't admire. I never made it. It fizzled out because in grew up in such a rural area. I got my first shotgun at 12 and we were hunting and fishing and working and usually boys moved on. I've kept the field book and boy scout book handed down from my father to this day. In retrospect I wish I had made Eagle.

Congrats again. Honor and achievement. I hope the liberals don't kill boy scouts but I'm afraid your son may be in one of the last classes of true eagle scouts.. Glad he made it.

Congrats to your son and yourself. No Scout can do this without having involved parents push them. I regret not sticking it all the way out in scouting. I got as far as first class and dropped out due to having a awful leader and just not enjoying it anymore.

Congrats to your son and to his father. Great accomplishment. You can add my congrats to the bunch above. No. Really.

Eagle Scouts earn their way to great jobs and is only right that they can.

Say NO to girls in the BSA.

One of the downsides to mostly growing up outside the country was not ever learning or knowing about this kind of thing.

I remember being in the 1st grade and having the Scouts come and visit the school and thinking it sounded cool.

Anyways, Congratulations to your son and yourself. I know you must be proud.

That was me Fo... basically got to first class, and it just turned into a grind (cause our troopmaster's wife had to get involved all the time... BLEH!)

My troop master's wife also was involved. That's how we got our Sex Education Badge. 03-wink
