They’ll settle down once the new car smell wears off. They’re excited and rightfully so. They were in the Missouri Valley Conference forever and won the basketball championship twice in the last 30 years. Now they’re in a high-major basketball conference with multiple NCAA bids every year. It’s like Christmas. I say let them enjoy it.

We will be glad to pass the flag to the next ship when they are worthy. As it stands right now, nobody in this conference is even close to the Shockers with regards to national publicity and respect. I'll personally hand the flag to whoever passes us up and becomes the team that everyone is expecting to reach the Final Four.

The Flagship had a bad day today, for that we apologize.

Um we don't remember handing the flag off to anyone. Remember you have to have the flag in order to hand it off. Win a national title and you can hold a mini flag.

It’s a requirement that you let someone else hold the flag when the best case scenario for your team is your coach getting fired.

It’s a requirement that a flagship’s fans act like they are fans of a flagship not a MVC team. UConn is the basketball flagship of this conference in both men and women’s B.B, and will be until someone surpasses them in Nattys! #fact

RE: A toast to the Flagship!
More relevant question: why even consider there IS A FLAGSHIP?

There is a ton of tradition/history of success in six programs. There is “new money” SMU and potentially “new money” UCF.

Declaring yourself a flagship cheapens others. You Shocker homers do realize that 6 of your this year’s 8 are seniors.... right? This is a good freakin conference and will be even better going forward. Let’s not beat ourselves up over who carries the flag on a weekly basis. K?

Yeah i mean conference play hasn't even started and yall are claiming to be the flagship.if anyone deserves to hold the flag until we get back on our feet. It would be cincy. It it would be pretty funny if you lost to lowly UConn and the flagship campaign was over before it started...

So MVC fans act like they can win M7 conferences before they do it while Flagship fans root for their coach to be fired? That makes sense. I’m leaning towards poorly thought out troll. Like “I’m gonna say MVC and hope it makes sense” level of poorly thought out.

No what i am saying is that
There is a difference between acting like u will win the conference and acting like you are the most prestigious program in the conference even tho you were just in the mvc . Ik this is all jokes and ****, but still

A Natty Light toast on this morn is very appropriate. Accepted.

If you were a kind soul you might have offered wine from a box - something with a spigot would be apropos. Paper cups would be fine as well. It's fine though really.

What’s sad for you is...the best team ever to come out of the MVC is Cincy. WSU isn’t even a historical foot note to a foot note for MVC lore and recognition. And what did WSU do? They rejoined a Cincy conference only to re-initiate the head stomping they’re used to.
