Who are they?

Guy who are enjoying a free visit and not signing with the Cajuns.

There have been plenty of former 4 and 5 star guys playing in this conference over the past few years. There is no reason the Cajuns can't land a few this year. If they are making the visit, there is a chance.

No there has not and about a zero chance unless UL starts paying under the table like P5 will in trying to land them. Some P5's are lucky to land one four star much less a five star. G5's in total may land five four stars a year. However you get some good pub with high level recruits visiting.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if we pulled in a couple of these guys. Before this year it was RARE to even see a 4 star; much less a 5-star kid visit the Cajuns. This new football staff has very strong ties and will bring in kids previous staffs didn't even try to recruit IMO.

It is rare because they dont visit any G5's for the most part. Again it is rare for most P5's to land more than one or two four star kids. If you land a five star he probably has an ankle monitor on or one of your boosters won the lottery.

Agree it is rare. Time will tell if we are successful. But we did increase our football budget a lot this year................ 05-stirthepot

Truth. I know of at least two former 4 star guys on the Red Wolves' roster last year. Both (Hansen and Liner) were very productive. We have signed some 4 star guys out of HS in the past but most of them did not pan out. Jonathan Adams is the only five star I recall off the top of my head.

Transfer P5 rejects can land anywhere so yes I missed former.

3 star athlete confirmed official visit to GSU even though we didn't offer. He holds offers from USF, App, USM, and NIU. App fans have some info on this guy?

That offer is likely no longer valid based upon the early signing day and spots available. Not sure where he fell on the big board.

He could be a great kid that didn't adjust to the early signing period based upon the offers he once held.

Showing he has an offer from GSU. I have to give some credit to Valdosta State they are going after FBS level recruits being DIV II.

3 star pro-style QB from Mobile, Alabama...led his HS team to victory in the 5A championship game....seems to have the "it" factor as he made clutch throws again and again to rally his team to a late 4th quarter comeback to win the HS championship. Shows poise in the pocket. Very accurate passer with a strong arm.

He is taking OV to Georgia State next weekend...expected to be the 3rd string practice squad QB. Holds offers from Georgia State, Akron, Louisiana, Jacksonville State, Liberty, Central Arkansas, and etc. Strangely, his hometown school, USA, didn't offer.

Interesting as they only have 4 QB's on roster and it appears only 3 of those are legit candidates. They also did not sign a QB in December. I'm sure they saw him play quite a bit over the last couple of years.

The Cajuns have 13 prospects who are suppose to have their Official Visits this weekend. Not quite sure who they all are, but that’s the rumor. We are also only expecting to sign between 16-18 kids.

Have most of you not already signed almost all of your class in the early period?

we still have room for 8 more. plus few players from Trent Mile's era voluntarily walked away, thus we should have more scholarships to give away.

You can still only sign 8. There is a hard max on 25 guys in a class now. You can use blue shirts etc to fill in remaining spots.

We didn’t not sign any in the early signing period. We didn’t have a staff in place. I’ve heard that we have 10 commits so far, but only 2 are public since the new staff has been really quiet about it. I expect 5 or 6 of those to become public after this weekends visits.

Maybe Joey didn't look at him, but I hope the new staff looks at him. We have 3 senior qbs and haven't signed one yet. The St Paul qbs have done well lately, for a while Alabama was getting AJ McCarron and Jake Coker after he transfered from FSU.

yeah I was very surprised that USA overlooked him. I'm more surprised that he wants to come to GSU to be a 3rd string QB. Of course, I selfishly wish that we sign him for depth and competition.
